how accurate were your drs with their precictions on weight of baby?

I havent been told anyting about her wieght in a while. When i go thursday for my non stress test i am going to be told the approximate weight again. My office doenst seem to give out that info all too much and the reason i think is becasue they realize how off drs usually are with that so rather than get a patient all worked up and say your baby is HUGE and he or she is normal weight they dont focus on that unless its an issue.

How close or off was your drs approximation?

My doctor was almost eerily accurate with both. We knew Andrew would be big and he was 9 lbs 7 oz. early and we watched Lauren very closely and doc said I was a go for a VBAC if she was under 8 lbs and she was 7 lbs 11 oz.

They were so off! I had a sono at 38w and was told she was 6lbs 9oz and then the night before I delivered...a doctor came in and felt the baby and told me she was about 7lbs 4oz....well she was born at 6lbs 1oz so they really have no clue.

My doctor was pretty close but thankfully he was a little less than what he thought he'd be...he thought a little over 8 lbs. but he ended up being 7lbs. 9oz. Still a good size!

Mine was wayyy off. At 32 weeks they had her at 5lbs, told me I would have a larger side of normal baby, meaning close to or at 9lbs.

I had a 7lb 2oz baby girl at 39w4ds. Her head was huge though, so maybe that's what through off the weight estimate, who knows.

I think it all depends on the sono tech. She told me the approximate size. At 34 weeks she was estimated to be 6lb 15oz, she was born at 35 weeks and was 6lb 13oz...Pretty close!!!!!!!

Completely off.

I was told Joseph was 4.5 lbs on Saturday. On Wednesday, he was born 6lbs 7oz.

He was closer with Maddie. He said 8lbs. She was 7lb. 12oz.
