She's still a little young to REALLY appreciate Disney. Its going to cost you a lot of money to do Disney, and it may not be worth it yet.

How about a cruise, like you said, or even Myrtle Beach, or someplace similar?

Some place where she can just run around, play in the sand, etc.

DH and I agreed that Disney will be when she is about 4yrs old, but someone told me yesterday that if they are under 2, they are 'free'!! A nice little incentive. Otherwise I'd just go to a tropical place, kid friendly, and let the sand be the playground. My parents took us away every winter for a vacation in Florida and it was sun, sand, pool, and fun.

I think Disney might be fun for her. Anywhere you go she'll be to young to really understand, but she might get a kick out of seeing the characters and stuff. Since she can't do too much, I'd only go if you and DH really want to go.

A cruise might be nice, especially if you go to the beach at the ports. I would only do one that 4-5 days though.

How about Hershey, PA. It might be a little more low-key for you guys and you could get a chocolate body wrap. Mmmmmm.........

My girlfriend went on a cruise with her baby was 9 months old. They went to Bermuda. Her son loved the sand and water.

I wanted to go to disney too next when my son turns one but DH said he won't be old enough to appreciated it so we are waiting until he's 3 or 4.

we are in the same situation...James is 18 months...but we fell that he is still too young for some things..so we decided to use our VAcation to take him to Sesame Place...then drive down to Maryland to visit DH's sister.

it's very family friendly. My BIL & SIL went with their then 8 month old and had a blast. My friend goes every year with her entire immediate family (parents, siblings, nieces & nephews of all ages) and they really enjoy it.

I haven't been yet, but they both said it's wonderful for all ages, adult and children.

Puerto Rico/Mexico/Bermuda?
The flights are not too bad and if you stay in a family friendly resort there will be the ocean and the poll to keep you entertained.

What about a Beaches Resort or Club Med? We went to Dominican Republic Club Med and it was great!

JMHO:

I know people feel that kids need to be a certain age to really appreciate Disney (and for the most part that's probably true.) But YOU and your DH can get immeasurable joy out of seeing how she reacts to the rides, the characters, etc...She might not remember her first trip regardless of what you do, but you'll never forget it.

And like another poster said, think carefully about how much you personally want to do something.

I think that she might be a little to young to fully appreciate Disney.

Sesame Place would be perfect - I LOVED that place!!! In fact by 8 years old I was too big to ride some things and I was devestated!
