Natalee Halloway's last photo...
I was reading about this in the post. This photo is going to be aired Saturday on CBS's "48 hours mystery". In the photo she is smiling at a camera and dancing with someone's arm around her. All you see is the arm. You don't see who the person is.
And now a new witness has given the cops a specific burial spot, which they are going to check out because supposedely this guy was too specific in his information to just think it's another story. Cops say that her body was probably buried somewhere on the island then possibly exhumed and carefully reburied to avoid detection.
This story just breaks my heart and it makes me sick to my stomach that the 3 people responsible are walking around scott free. I think Van der sloot's Dad definitely played a big role in covering up this murder. And Joran's tv interview confirmed that he is the murderer, in my eyes at least. Can't they see what a lying pig he is!!!!!!! this guy is and they are letting him off scott free!!! I just think they are afraid to do anything because his dad is rich and powerful.
And what about this witness who knows the specific burial spot? How would you know that?

That is so horrible. The fact that her Mom has been doing more investigating the the cops is disgusting to me. This is why I agree w/ them sayins Americans should refuse to go to Aruba.

I will never go there. To think this poor mother had to humiliate herself by making a public apology to Aruba for the trouble she's caused? I would never have done that!
Picture your child missing and not knowing what happened to her or where her body is and you have to apology for causing trouble? I would raise havoc if my child were missing and apologize to noone for my actions!

Vanity Fair had a very interesting article about this case. Though we all feel very sympathetic toward the mother, there are legitimate claims that in her valid state of panic, she hindered the investigation with threats and media involvement. It is a sad story.

But we're talking about your child missing? You don't really have time to think about your actions hindering the investigation. All that's on your mind is finding your son/daughter.

I totally understand that, I just don't think the entire country of Aruba needs to be punished when 99% of the country had nothing to do with this.

I understand that as well but it's just so unfair for a mother to have to apologize for making a fuss about her daughter missing when the goverment f***** up the investigation in the first place. That's just my opinion.

I never said she should apologize. I just said the article was interesting because it was written by a third party and shed a lot of light on how she hindered the investigation. I understand her emotions involved and never said she was wrong but the article clearly made a case that she halted the investigation and made it much tougher for the police.

Maybe she bought them herself or with her friends while she was partying the whole week on the island. Aruba was a Dutch colony with Dutch rules & laws...think Amsterdam
As for her mom, of course she is desperate & wants answers..her child just seemed to dissapear into thin air! IMHO,the way she went about it was all wrong. You can't blame a whole country for whatever did happen to Natalee Holloway, that would be as absurd as blaming one of us for all the crimes reported in NYC daily.

No but you can blame the government. If I were Natalee's mom and saw how the government handled the investigation I would go bonkers myself.

That article was eye opening. It just showed we have not been getting both sides of the story. If you are really interested in the case you should read the article.

The drugs were in her possession, that doesn't mean she took them. If she did how do we know that they didn't influence her.

How do we know she wasn't like a lot of teenagers and did drugs at home?
LOOK I think he is so GUILTY and I feel SO BAD for Natalee and her poor family. BUT..... The things you are saying are kinda silly. Maybe she influenced them to do drugs
Dont make her seem like an angel. She was a teenager you know.

Re: Natalee Halloway's last photo...
I'm certain that there are many things that are still unknown about this case and that there are plenty of people not saying what they know including those that last saw her alive. I'm certain heavy use of alcohol and drugs were involved in this case. I went to Aruba in January and I'd love to go back. I don't think a country and its people should be penalized because of a crime that happened there. It's true that the way the government handled the case leaves a lot to be desired but I don't feel Aruba people should be liable for what happened. JMO

Re: Natalee Halloway's last photo...
She was a teenager on a trip in paradise. I don't know about taking drugs, but there are several reports of her drinking. I certainly don't blame her for her death, but I truely believe that she made some poor decisions that week.
ETA: Aruba is not like America where we have hundereds of murders a day across our country. I don't think that they are used to handling a case of this magnitude.

Re: Natalee Halloway's last photo...
Bonkers or not, that women rubs me the wrong way. Because of her the investigation was hampered, she took the media attention & ran with it. I am yet to see that women shed one single tear. Everyone keeps saying "child" as if Natalee was 8 yrs old and abducted while walking home from school..now that would be a tragedy! Nope, she was 18,an adult..who made some poor & unfortunate decisions for herself. I in no way believe in or support a boycott on Aruba..I've had this discussion many times on this board..it has always turned ugly. Saturday night at 10pm on "Primetime" there will be a segment about the new findings.

Re: Natalee Halloway's last photo...
Everyone is entitle to their own opinions. I just would not feel safe if something criminal happened to me in Aruba with the way the government handled this case.
Up until now she's been viewed as a poor victim and now all of a sudden because witnesses are "claiming" they found drugs in her possession now all of a sudden she is the "typical teenager".
There is much more to this case that we don't know but those three had some involvement in it. whether it they murdered her or not.

No maybe its just the way you worded it.
Like this "Everyone keeps saying "child" as if Natalee was 8 yrs old and abducted while walking home from school..now that would be a tragedy!" Kinda made me go almost like it wasnt a tragedy... It was a tragedy. Its always a tragedy when someone dies.
and BTW I have seen her cry many of times. Like I said She was a teenager and made bad desicions but its still sad and a tragedy.

Re: Natalee Halloway's last photo...
Ok maybe I shouldn't have said Child but I didn't say it to make Natalee seem like she was 8 years old. I was saying it more like a general word as if from the mother's eyes. Becayse as a mom, your child will always be viewed as your child no matter what age they are.
I've seen the mother cry on TV.
