If so, please tell me what you like and don't like about them. I know they are all very different in terms of style and price, but I am very indecisive.

Nissan Altima
Toyota Rav 4
Mazda 6
Toyota Camry
Toyota Corolla

DH has the Altima. we love it... Very roomy (both front seat and back), but it doesnt feel like youre drivig a boat. the trunk is a Really nice size, and we think it'll definitely be enough room for when we have a kid.

ETS- and its really good with gas too!

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

DH also has the Altima.
He has a problem with the starting on it - but the dealership can not seem to find anything wrong with it. But for the most part, he really likes it.
He did almost 36,000 miles on it the first year he had it (it was a 2005). And he really didn't have any problems with it.
As the previous poster said - it is REALLY roomy. My DH is 6'4" and has no problem with it being tight in the back for him (yes I made him sit back there). And there is sooooo much room in the trunk.

My parents have always had Camrys (they have older ones now (Dad has a 2002?) and he loves it - they swear my Toyota cars.

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

I have an 05 Camry.

Years ago I had a 90 Corolla, then inherited my Dad's 97 Camry. I test drove both last year... IMO Corolla is a much noisier and bumpy ride. The Camry is sooooo much smoother of a ride and IMO is well worth the money. Over 50% of my family has owned several Toyotas for year and their has never been one problem with any of them. You can drive well over 150K if you take care of them

In 2001 I sold my Dad's Camry to lease a Jaguar X-Type... almost immediately I was so sorry I did but had to wait out the lease. It was a horrible car.

I'm a Toyota customer forever now... I will never leave.

BTW: My Camry gets almost TWICE the gas milage of the Camry and believe it or not is a smoother ride.

ETA: I also drove the Nissan Altima. Noisy and much more sporty in looks. The handling was more like a sports car you felt every little turn etc. Camry was smoother.

I have a corolla and I love it! But I'm looking for something a little bigger... next car will probably be an accord.

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

I have an 05 Corolla LE. It's my first car so I have nothing to compare it do other than my DH's 95 Jetta.

I love it. It's roomy, comfortable, great gas mileage, great trunk space, no problems at all (I think I have only 12k miles though).

Did you read reviews on Edmunds and cars.com?

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

I just got back from looking again.
Here is what I am thinking.
The Altima will have a new body style for 07 so there is no way I want the 06. So I would have to wait a few months for that one. But I get a discount on Nissans from work.
The Corolla may be to small for when we have children. Camry is better sized, but I don't get discounts on Toyotas, so then maybe a Nissan would be a better choice.
Ray has a Jeep Liberty that is a company car. I love his so we checked out the prices of these today also. I like the Rav 4 better, but I get a discount on Jeeps and not Toyota. But I don't think I want to buy the liberty.
The Mazda 6 is my favorite so far, but I have heard bad things about Mazda (costing a lot to fix) so I will have to do more research. But I do get work disounts on Mazda. And the price we got I thought was the best value so far.

SO I still have more research to do. I am going to call Geico to see insurance cost differences and probably go back out looking again tomorrow.

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

I drive a 2005 Nissan Altima. I absolutely love it. In fact when my lease is up I'm going to buy a new one.It gets good gas mileage, has great room for DH (6'3") and it drives really nice.

I also liked the Camry a lot. The only reason I didn't get it was because my parents have one and I just wanted something different!

Here's my take on employee discounts. They are nothing but invoice which you should be able to get from any dealer anyway. At least that was my experience.
Good Luck!!
I had 2 jeeps and was happy with them both times. I just needed a change so I got something different this past time.

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

My discount is pretty good actually for Nissan... it is 2.87% BELOW invoice. The price of a brand new Altima is just a few hundred more than what my brother paid for a used 3 year old one.
For Mazda, my discount is just invoice price.
Jeep is 1% below invoice.

Employee pricing is usually 3-5% below invoice.

Re: This will be my last CAR post.. does anyone have one of these cars?

Jeep 1% under invoice is considered "Friends & Family" pricing. Thats probably what you are entitled to through your job.

Jeep also has "employee pricing" thats around 5% under invoice... but you have to be a chrysler employee to get that.

My dad has worked for Dodge/Chrysler for over 25 years and believe me the discount isn't that great.. even for himself.

For me, 1% below invoice. Plus whatever incentives are going on at the time. SO right now for the Jeep, I would get 1% below invoice PLUS $3K off.
I think it is pretty good.
