Every year since DH and I have been together we have basically done nothing on NYE-- except our first- and that totally was a waste of money- hence the following years of ordering pizza and renting movies.
This year- since things have been so crazy and our QT has been low-- we are going to a nice restuarant locally in Hoboken. They are offering a five-course tasting menu with wine pairings with each course and a live band and dancing.
I am looking forward to it- cause it'll be nice to get dressed up and do something fancy...

We are getting together with close friends & family for dinner and drinks at a inexpensive bar/restaurant in Queens, close to where we live
