I agree that the people MUCH HIGHER UP are more to blame than the case workers themselves.
I also think that the family and friends of these horrific people are to blame as well. Do you mean to tell me that no one noticed anything weird about this situation, no one saw the bruises on this poor little girl...the grandmother or number of aunts and uncles didnt notice a thing????? Now they are all shouting out that they would have done something if they had known...if they had known??? Bull! Plus...did anyone see the "fake real father" of this poor little girl spouting his bull crap the other day...that he wants to "kill the guy"..where were you all that time??????? If you were a part of your childs life in the first place, dont you think you would have noticed something???? But now your trying to look like a hero saying that you want to kill the guy?? Oh please!!!!!!!!
I hope these monsters get tortured the way they tortured this poor girl. I cant even think of what will bring justice..I just hope something will.
What a fool the father is. Where were you all this time. These people will have to live with that for the rest of their lives. I at least know that when I see something I don't think is right I stand up and speak out.
I guess, it makes me happpy to know that she is no longer suffering. As a Christian, I beleiev she is in heaven and in a better place.

Re: Opinion(Nixzmary Brown Case)
It amazes me the time and effort (especially over the past years) that goes into protecting the lives of people that DO NOT live in this country...
and what little concentration goes into protecting our own!

Re: Opinion(Nixzmary Brown Case)
I called CPS once.
I had a neighbor who lets her kids run around her mini van. The older one who was about 7 would "sit" in the front seat with no seat belt on. She had a baby who should would put in the infant carry and put it on the floor of the van. One day Mike came home and said to me "thank god you werent with me" I asked why... He told me that He just saw Neighbor and her son who was about 2 Standing up in the back seat completly naked holding on to the driver seats head rest!!!!!! I had enough the kids played outside in the winter with no shoes on and T-shirts..
I called CPS and they asked me has the child(ren) been hurt? I said God I hope no im trying to avoid that by calling you.
I was told theres nothing they could do.
Honestly CPS does crap.

Re: Opinion(Nixzmary Brown Case)
I don't think its an issue with one person, 2 people or 6 people. The system needs an overhaul. One thing I thought of was having a tag team or buddy system so that if one person slacks or doesn't have time to go to these household there would be a partner.

i think systems need the overhaul...
Not only CPS but our legal system as well! I think it should be mandatory jail time for anyone who abuses a child...

ANd to be quite frank i think they are now coming down on the wrong people...
I agree with this and pretty much everything else Redhead said.
I can't imagine how hard it must be to be a caseworker trying to be a detective and to determine whether a child is being abused or not, or actually if their life is in danger. I mean I have seen alot of filth in my day, but the children were not abused. You don't want to make the mistake of taking someones child away when there is no harm being done. Obviously like in this case, it may be so hard to tell the difference. Family members detected nothing, how could someone who stops by (announced ?) once a month do any better? If its a scheduled visit, well I doubt they would have the kid tied to the chair when ACS shows up. You would think that knowing they are being monitored would be enough to leave the girl alone, but these people are sick.

I think it may change things for a while - while the agency is under the public eye - but unfortunately I dont think any major permanent changes will happen.
I sadly agree
