Steakhouse Rec
Aside from Paces, Ruth Chris, Peter Lugars and Rothmans
On the island, where would you recommend going?
A friend told me about some place called Burt & Doyles? Is that good?

Re: Steakhouse Rec
heres the burt & doyles Zagat review. a @3 for food is really good!
Burton & Doyle Steakhouse 661 Northern Blvd. (just east of Lakeville Rd.) Great Neck, NY 11021 516-487-9200 www.burtonanddoyle.com Food Decor Service Cost 23 22 21 $58 “Here’s the beef” boast backers of this “high-end” Great Neck cow palace on Steakhouse Row that wins praise for “unbelievably juicy” steaks, “amazing crab cakes” and “huge lobsters cooked to perfection”; a “citylike vibe” fills the “elegant” room and the service is “reliable”, adding up to an experience that’s “classy from top to bottom.”

Re: Steakhouse Rec
Without a doubt...Teller's in Islip. It's the best steakhouse I have been to on the island and I am a Peter Luger Brooklyn diehard fan. I have also heard good things about Blackstone in Melville.

Re: Steakhouse Rec
Here are my picks along with the Zagat's reviews. I liked PGs even though the review wasn't spectaular.
PG Steakhouse 1745 E. Jericho Tpke. (bet. Elwood Rd. & Park Ave.) Huntington, NY 11743 631-499-1005 Food Decor Service Cost 21 13 19 $55 Review The decor of this “unpretentious” and “relaxed” Huntington meatery “doesn’t match the excellence of the steaks” grilled inside, conclude carnivores who don’t mind “blowing the diet” for this “top-notch beef”; it’s definitely a “serious steakhouse”, though the service can be variable, and the disgruntled declare that “for the attitude and the price, you might as well go to Peter Luger.”
Abel Conklin's 54 New St. (W. Carver St.) Huntington, NY 11743 631-385-1919 www.abelconklins.com Food Decor Service Cost 22 17 21 $47 Review Huntington carnivores commend this “convenient” Eclectic steakhouse for “top-notch” chops at “value” prices (“two tasty sides come with” each entree); “down-to-earth” staffers “know their stuff”, and if it’s not exactly “fancy”, the 1841 house’s “cozy” paneled interior conveys an “old-world charm”; seasonal selling points include a working fireplace and a patio for outdoor dining; N.B. lunch served Monday–Friday only.
Frank's Steaks Jericho Shopping Plaza 4 Jericho Tpke. (bet. Brush Hollow Rd. & Post Ave.) Jericho, NY 11753 516-338-4595 www.frankssteaks.com Food Decor Service Cost 20 15 18 $46 Review “Everyone knows about the Romanian steak”, the “out-of-this-world” “marinated” chop that’s the house specialty at this pair of “no-fuss” meateries in Jericho and Rockville Centre; what’s more, servings are “enormous”, and the “comfortable” if “noisy” atmosphere is “great” for kids – there are “several TVs so you can keep up with the scores”, and “they even let you” “color on the paper tablecloths.”

Re: Steakhouse Rec
I LOVED the hash browns at Bryant and Cooper, they were buttery on the inside and crispy on the outside. The steaks were very good but not amazing. I looked at the website for Tellers and I will definitely be trying that restaurant Next!!
