Re: Official CLOMID thread

I htink I need to ask to take a break from Clomid. I think the side effects might be cumulative each month and since I just finished month four...I think I want to take a break from it for a month or two. Hope my doc lets me!

Re: Official CLOMID thread

My doc said he would only do 3 consecutive months and then take a month off and up the dose (I'm only on 50 mg now).

I'm hoping it won't come to that!! Chat Icon

If the side effects get worst every month I will not be a pleasant person next cycle!!!

Re: Official CLOMID thread

It's not just that the side effects get worse, supposedly if you take it for longer than six months straight you can develop cysts in or on your ovaries.

Re: Official CLOMID thread

Have you girls discussing Femara (Letrizole) It is the "new" Clomid. It leaves your system quicker and less side effects.

My doc hasn't suggested that yet, but I will certainly ask if I have to go on another month!!

Thanks!

Re: Official CLOMID thread

Anyone have post-ovulation symptoms when on Clomid?

I was just reading on another website that sometimes Clomid makes you have the same symptoms as pregnancy (sore boobs, cramps, nausea, etc)

Which stinks because those are all the signs I have and now I'm wondering if they are PMS, BFP or Clomid signs!!

That's what I thought too, but then I read a couple sites that said it the symptoms can stay with you.

Doesn't matter for me this month anyway, TBAF showed up this afternoon.

I'm so upset. I really thought this was it. Chat Icon

Just ordered my Clomid refill. Here's to being a 2nd round success story!!

Re: Official CLOMID thread

sorry Lauren! I had high hopes for you this month. I'm just a few days behind you, but I'm not optimistic. I'm not 100% sure I even ovulated on the clomid...

Re: Official CLOMID thread

for those with long/irregular cycles who took clomid - did your cycle length regulate from the clomid?

I'm on CD 39 and still going - I was expecting a "normal" length cycle...

Oh Lauren I just saw this now, I'm so sorry!! I hope the second time is a charm!
Have you and DH considered doing IUI as well as Clomid? I feel fairly certain that it was the combination of the two things that got us PG.

Re: Official CLOMID thread

Great thread. Today is day 1 on Clomid for me (CD3). I'm so nervous about side effects bc I'm so sensitive to meds, but I'm only on 50mg, so I should be ok. If I do not have luck with this month's IUI, I will be bumped to 100mg next month depending on how my body reacts. How's everyone else doing? What dosage is everyone taking?

Re: Official CLOMID thread

I was just told yesterday that next cycle that starts 11/20 I should start on Clomid (50 mg) on CD 3-7. The dr is keeping me on this for 3 months then on to IUI (hopeing not to go that route).

Re: Official CLOMID thread

I was on 50 mg. I did 3 cycles at that and got pregnant on this last cycle, but sadly lost it.

I go back to the doctor on Monday and he will decide about next round. (We are most likely staying on 50 mg and moving to IUI.)

I found taking the Clomid at night helped with the side effects. Though the hot flashes hit all day and night until I ovulated.

I took them days 4-8.

Good luck to all the Clomid ladies!!

Re: Official CLOMID thread

If it's any help, I have done 2 months of 100 mg of Clomid and I haven't had too many side effects. Just a very unpleasant, weird taste in my mouth and weird back pain. Nothing horrible. Hopefully, all of you won't have any side effects or very little. This will be month 3. Chat Icon

Re: Official CLOMID thread

Did anyone get cramps? I don't know if it's related or not, but I have these twangs and pains in my ovary region, and I'm only on CD4, Day 2 of Clomid. Related?

I never had cramping with the Clomid. Is this your first cycle or have you been on it before?
