Kelly - your stories are giving me chills!!!!

DH has a friend who's father died a few years ago. He worked for the RR and at his funeral, just as the priest was saying a prayer, a train went by and whistled......we've always thought that it was his father saying goodbye Chat Icon

ok when Dh's Nanny passed on one of the awakes we went out to a brunch and this place you cant get into without reservations some how they let us in and they sat us at this table that had PURPLE napkins(Dh's nany's favorite color) and every other table had red napkins concidence or was it meant for us to sit at that table it was a buffett! i think Dh's nanny had something to do with that in letting us know she was oka nd we can not be upset anymore!Chat Icon

My dad passed November of this past yr and I cant even begin to tell you the signs. My mom did get a dream of him talking to her telling her it was a bumpy road to heaven. ( He had the paddles and cpr done in our home). She thinks he meant this. Anyhow, his b-day/lucky # is 8 and everything keeps popping up 8s for us. When we were in Fl, I was in the shower and a bar of soap on the wall in bold print read EXP OCT 08. Thats his bday (also why would soap expire?) The day of his funeral I was trying to look up my brothers speech to my father and I didnt know where he stored it. I saw an unusual file with my dads name on it...I opened it and inside it read "HI". Why would someone save "HI".

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

I have 2 right now that I can think of

- one was my godmother, I was waiting for results of an HIV test and was extremely nervous about it, the night before the results my godmother told me it was going to be ok, not to worry and it the test was fine!

the other one was my friend that died suddenly at age 30. She's come to me a few times in my dreams but the strangest was 3 months after her death, I rec'd an email from her. A bunch of us had gone to New Orleans about 3 weeks before she died. The email we got was her telling us how much fun she had and sharing some pics with us. It was dated before her death but for some reason it never got sent until 3 months later.

For those of you that are hoping to connect I was told that the best time of contact is usually between 1am-4am, it's the witching hour.
Thanks for sharing all of your stories, I love reading them

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

A friend of mine was killed in the Navy when his helicopter went down in the ocean. They didn't recover his body for 7 weeks. Until then, I was in serious denial and would not believe that it was really him. While we waited, I had dreams about him, almost nightly.

In most of them, I would see him somewhere but have a hard time getting to him. We could hear each other speak though and I would always say something like "I knew you were alive". His reply was always "let it go JoAnne". The night before they found his body, I dreamt we were at a place that we used to go to as kids. He was in the middle of a field and yelled to look at him. I rainbow covered the sky and ended at his feet. Rainbows in dreams are supposed to mean "better things to come". That was the last dream I had about him. I truly believe he was trying to give me a message in each dream. Even if he wasn't, at least I got to see him again.

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

My MIL passed a month ago. We have had some weird things happen in our home. I smelled her perfume and it was clearly her perfume like she walked past me, we had just gotten our wedding pics and the family one was thown on the floor one day when we went upstairs and it was impossible for ths pic to be on the floor about 1 foot away from where it was placed and secured, a towel in our bathroom was unfloded and neatly laid out fron the night before in a bathroom we rarely go into, and it is just me and DH in the house , and then the other morning I heard her saying my name in my ear 2x, very clearly and then I heard nothing, it was so weird. I had also heard my Mom's voice when my Mom passed away one morning, 12 years ago. So weird and freaky ,but it is comfort to know they are around us.

She was whispering in your ear? Wow...I would haveChat Icon .

My mother had a dream the other night that my grandmother (her mom) was showing off her new giant ruby ring. She told my mom that she couldn't have it but there is something on the doorknob for her. My mother looked at the doorknob but there was nothing there...weird.

Also I remember I went to a psychic once, after my grandma died, and she said that she's very popular "up there". Her husband (my grandpa) was waiting for her. She also told me that my grandma wants to tell my mother to get over it and stop crying about her because she's having fun up there.

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

The day I went into the hospital to have my son my DH, Mom and I went to eat and we were talking about my Grandma. I started crying and saying I wish she was here I wish she could see the baby.

In my sons room we always hear creaking noises (espeically when you walk into the room) we hear it at night all the time. My DH, Mom, 2 aunts and I went to a psychic in January and as soon as I sat down she said "Your Grandmother is here with you" I started crying. She then said "She said she came to stay with you when you got your epidural because John couldnt bear to watch" I never told the psychic my DH's name nor did I mention him leaving the room. She then said "she watched your whole c-section (my Grandma loved to watch medical shows) and she loves your baby boy and watches him at night, she is the noise you hear, she says that she will always be with you and not to be sad she is happy and at peace"

Every so often I can hear my Gma call me, Staceala. Even John talks to her and tells her Grandma make sure the baby is ok tonight.

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

I have always had some strange things happen to me while I was growing up. My great-grandfather died when my grandmother was very young. So when I was born he had been gone for many many years. I would constantly wake up in the middle of the night seeing a figure of a man wearing a hat at the foot of my bed. One night I woke up and saw him there and screamed. When I screamed the figure dissapeared and the window shade in my bedroom flew up. My mom went to a medium several years later and she told her that he was my guardian angel. This man has followed my wherever I have lived.. LI, Boston and even in AZ. I now keep a picture of him wearing that hat next to my bed.

Another thing was for a little while I moved into the apt above my grandparents house (dad's side of the family now). They owned a Mother/Daughter house. My great-grandfather died in the guest bedroom of the upstairs apt many years before. My great-grandma lived there without him until she had to go to a nursing home when she was 96. That apt always had an errie feeling. Always felt cold when you walked in, not matter what time of year. I always felt like there was something there. Well the night my great-grandmother died I was sleeping and I suddenly woke and said, I know your here! When I got up the next morning my grandma said that my nanny had died. I never felt that errie feeling in the apt again. It's like he left once she died.Chat Icon

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

My husband's best man's father passed away suddenly believe it or not of an asthma attack. Everyone took his passing really hard. Everyone was so upset and they kept wondering if he was at peace.

Well a few months after he passed away, I drempt that he and his whole family were at my house. He and his wife were sitting in my kitchen. He was leaning on my island (I have an large island in the middle of my kitchen) and he looks right at me and tells me to tell his family that they need to stop wondering if he's okay. He told me to tell them he was okay.

The next day I called "Andy" and told him. He believed me and shared it with his family. I think that that message gave them all a sense of peace and that their father is okay now.

It didn't freak me out. It actually made me feel very very special to have been the messenger.

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

On the night that we buried my Grandmother (almost 5 years ago) I was sleeping and in the middle of the night I swear I felt someone tickling my feet.

I swear it did not feel like a dream and it couldn't have been anyone else in the house cuz my parents and brother were all dead asleep. My grandmother was the type that always liked to tickle you to cheer you up. When I told DH who was my boyfriend at the time, he said it was a sign that she was alright where she was and that she wanted me to stop crying and I did stop after that...

Evey single night- I mean every night- I dream about my mom- and its always the same dream- she's alive, her death was a mistake but she still is sick but not as ill as she was right before she died.

OMG!!! Antoinette, that post gave me chills. I very frequently have the EXACT dream about my mom who passed away a few years ago. It is almost as though I see she is here but she really isn't. I know her time is limited but her death was a mistake. It is a really eery dream because I know it is a matter of time before she REALLY goes.

so when i got back into bed, i felt something and looked up and it looked like a ghost that came in-kissed my brother ( who was sleeping on the floor) and went out of the room...
the next morning my grandmother called n said that my grandfather had passed away, prob 3/4 AM

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

when my dd was 2 months old she was in the hospital for a week, very sick with RSV. and i swear my mother who has passed came and watched over her and made her better. my dd was so sick yet she would always stare at a chair that was in the hospital room with us and just start laughing and smiling for no reason. i thought i was going crazy but my dh saw it, as well as the nurses in the hospital. i dont know if my mother was "sitting" in that chair making her laugh. but i know it was an angel of some sort.

Re: anyone been "contacted" be a deceased loved one?

so ill share my most recent about my nanny.

driving home the night we visited my nannys sisters grave and scattered nannys ashes there, the song walking in memphis went on. i like the song, nothing crazy, so i flipped through the channels. for some reason i had an urge to listen to the rest of it so i went bakc.

so i like 3 lines into the song after i change it back, the part, which ive never heard before in my life or never noticed, comes on that says..."muriel plays the piano"..

well, muriel (which i think is an uncommon name) is my nanny and it was awesome to hear that because it was like she was there.

so then, last weekend some friends of mine asked how everything was and how my poppy was doing. so we started talking about nanny and how we all missed her. as soon as we finished the converstaion, NO JOKE, walking in memphis came on in the restaurant.

i think it is a small token of her presence in my life. that is one of my favorite songs now as oyu could imagine!

OmG! That sounds so similar to a story of mine, that I've never told anybody about cause I was kind of embarrased, but here goes. My grandmother lived with us, and she died 5 years ago on Dec. 18th. So exactly a week later, was Christmas day. I was thinking about her, and I went into a gift box to get a new sweater I wanted to wear. Well just then, a picture frame fell of a table, and opened. Behind the picture in the frame was an old picture of her!!! I knew right then that she was there. When I went to my room to get dressed, I was putting my makeup on and I smelled her. Not a perfume smell, but I just knew her smell. It gave me the chills.

Here's another one: My mom's mother died when my mom was 21, 6 months before my mom married my Dad. Anyway the story goes that my family was up in the pocanos, i was 3 bro was a baby. My mom had a dream that her mother came to see her. She said, I came to see my new grandson. So she saw the baby, and then her and my mom went to the kitchen to have a beer together! My mom forgot about the dream until the next day when my aunt (dad's sister)asked her if she got up during the night, cause she heard bottles clinking in the kitchen. When my aunt got up that morning the refrigerator was open! Oh it gets better...my mom called her sisters back in NY, and they both had dreams about their mother. I swear I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. That story used to FREAK me out as a kid. I couldn't even listen to it, I'd get so scared!

Not me but my mom experienced it!
When my cousin passed away, my mom mentioned that she had prayed for him and she felt him crawl on the bed and gave her hug. She knew he was going to be okay. She swears it was him! I truly believe it!

As for me most recently, I felt God's presence. It was such a strange but wonderful sensation. Too long to get into.

But, I truly believe that spirits exists.
