Would you send a gift?? (updated! CHECK OUT WHAT they registered for!)

This is sorta wedding related sorry..

A fiancee of a close friend was invited to my bridal shower. She never RSVP'D and I found out about the shower, so I tried to get in touch with her or her fiaance to see if she was coming about 3 times. Nothing!

Showed at our wedding, had fun, never mentioned it, so neither did I. I didnt care too much in the end, thought it rude, but whatever.

Well I got an invite to HER bridal shower in the mail. We are not very close, and I know I wouldnt feel comfortable going, BUT DH says, send a check of a gift certificate.

My response was WHY? She didnt even RSVP yes or no to mine, why send a gift. I will RSVP no and thats that.

BUT..I feel bad. Im one of those who doesnt really hold grudges, and I know this is silly, but I dont know if I should or should not send something???

Re: Would you send a gift??

This is just me but - I would send a gift, I know at first I would be all like "well she didn't respond or send anything to me" but I know myself and in the end I would send something.

Re: Would you send a gift??

You should definitely RSVP. As for a gift if you're not that close I wouldn't send one.

Etiquette-wise, you're not obligated to send a gift for a shower you don't attend. And since she is not a close friend (and was rude to you) I would not feel guily in skipping this one.

I think you should RSVP, I think it would be holding not to do that but I wouldn't send a gift. It's really not required when you don't attend the shower, esp for people you are not close too.

Re: Would you send a gift??

Final outcome of searching registries shows:

5 ( YES FIVE!) Vaccuums
8 ( YES 8!) different bathroom towel.rug/dispenser sets
3 Coffee pots
2 microwaves
4 Comforter sets
4 different place sets

Maybe she is planning to open a home for wayward teenage girls and wants them to live in style (and earn their keep by vacuuming and ironing placemats!)

If she got you a gift I would not RSVP at all but send a gift. Like the coffee filters for all her coffee makers. That should be about $2.99, right?

Does she realize that she is probably going to get everyone of those coffee makers? TWICE?
