PS I sent out my resume like a mad woman yesterday LOL I woud LOVE to come back to long island. I guess my technical title is "executive legal assistant" and I have 10+ yrs experience...if any one hears of anything 
You never know....he might be doing you a favor. Especially if he's a demanding boss.
I'd do what I had to do and continue my search on Long Island.

Just a little update - I am going to return to work as planned on July 3rd but I have an interview this Friday with a company in Ronkonkoma. It's for in house counsel. I'm excited. I'll take the pay cut, I'm willing to do that, it's time to find something new I think.

good luck. Plus when you factor in the price for you to travel to NYC, the 3 hours a day you lost, etc., then I'm sure it won't seem like such a big difference.

Yes it is! They are supposed to hold your position until you come back.
