Aruba/Cabo San Lucas
Hi, DH and I are in the process of trying to plan our 1 yr anniversay trip. Has anyone been to both?? If so did you like one better over the other?? We can't decide on which one to go to. I'd love to hear some feedback positive or negative.
TIA
Sorry to post here but this gets more traffic.

Re: Aruba/Cabo San Lucas
we went to cobo in decemeber for our HM- we did not want to leave, we want to buy a house there- we loved it
the only that stinks is you can't fly direct- you have to fly to texas first and connect

I've not been to Cabo San Lucas but I heard it's pretty beautiful. I've been to Aruba and LOVED it so much that I'd not mind buying a house there when I retire to spend the winter months....There's so much to do and nothing to do if you don't feel like doing anything. Plus the beaches are gorgeous and the food is yummy....It's one of the islands I'd go back in a heartbeat....

Re: Aruba/Cabo San Lucas
I have not been to Aruba, but recently, Cabo. I love Cabo. Here's the deal, though...the current is crazy strong on the Sea of Cortez, and the whole time I was there you could not swim at all! I think there is one resort/beach that you can swim on, but I'm not certain. If swimming there isn't huge to you, then by all means, it's fabulous. The food, the bars, everything!

We went to Aruba for our HM...Loved It! Beaches, food, casual. Great relaxing vacation. The beaches are gorgeous. If we go back, we're hoping to stay at the Hyatt. It was such a nice hotel.
I've always wanted to go to Cabo. I couldn't talk DH into going because of the flights. We prefer to fly direct everywhere, and there aren't any direct flights there (unlike Aruba). The pictures and all the research I did made Cabo look like such a fun place with beautiful beaches, scenery and hotels.

we couldn't swim in the water I like the pool better anyway- but you can so everything else- we took out the jet skis, Jake learned to Scuba drive
and we went on the ATV thru the desert at sunset- ( I don't recommend it you have never been on one)

Re: Aruba/Cabo San Lucas
I have never been to Aruba but hear wonderful things. We went to Cabo for our HM last year and absolutely loved it. I would go back in a heartbeat. We had the most amazing time, the weather was beyond gorgeous and the people were so accomodating and friendly.
ETA: Our beach was a swimable beach but we never went in. We stayed by the pool the entire time and just walked the beach. We had an infinity pool - very cool!
ATV is a lot of fun and I did if for the first time in cabo. I loved it and I had no idea what I was doing at first but you learn and have guides to help. They also have two seaters for couples if you want.

you might have gone on a different one then us - our course was very steep and people got hurt- I would just ask if beginers are ok
our ATV didn't have brakes and was not automatic- if Jake didn't have experince with them- we could have gottem hurt
I stayed at the RUI palace- it was all inclusvie and close to town- it's brand new- the staff was great

We did an ATV tour in Aruba, and the did NOT have two-seaters, although there were plenty of couples on one bike (us included). The couple on the bike behind us had a tragic accident. Inexperienced drivers, rough terrain, and poorly equipped bikes make for a horrible combination. I could not recommend the ATV tour. Accidents happen, but to me, the risk on that tour just wasn't worth it.

Re: Aruba/Cabo San Lucas
I've never been to Aruba, but we went to Cabo last October on our HM. It was hot then but dry. A group from work went 2 weeks before us for a photoshoot and it was 100 degrees, so I think when we went was the perfect time.
We rented a jeep convertible and drove around a lot. We did scuba and mini-sub which was a blast (kind of like scuba-diving but on moped things underwater - definitely recommended). We also did the sunset catamaran around the arch.
We stayed at Dreams, all inclusive. Excellent food, service and the hotel was beautiful. No swimming on our beach either but we had a great infinity pool.
