Re: Mother-In-Laws
My MIL is great, but can sometimes say inappropriate things- and not even directed at me, just in general. She has what I lovingly refer to as "mind to mouth." She has no filters in her mind that fine tune her comments, how she thinks them is exactly how they come out. Sometimes it's hysterical, other times is can be kind of rude.

Re: Mother-In-Laws
my mil was wonderful - like a real supportive mom to me, but she passed away suddenly right before we were married - i cherish the years we knew each other though and all the memories we shared!

Re: Mother-In-Laws
For the most part, we get along. Although she is forever calling me Pam, the other daughter-in-laws name. I guess I'm not the favorite
And she's come up with a few comments I chose to ignore, like when she told me May was too busy of a month to be having another baby.

Re: Mother-In-Laws
We get along sort of. I really have no patience for her . I still will not let my kids spend the night there because whatever I say she does the opposite. She is very noce I just dont like her.

Re: Mother-In-Laws
My in-laws are very much like another set of parents. We disagree on some things, but I love them immensely and they treat me more like their daughter than a daughter in law. They are good people and I am very grateful for them!!!

Re: Mother-In-Laws
My future mother-in- law and I are very close. I owe her alot. She's literally like my second mother. It's a long, confusing story, but...
When I got pregnant for the first time at 19, her son (my FH) basically skipped town and ignored me for most of my pregnancy. But she was always there for me. I had no insurance at the time, so she got me insurance and paid for all my medical bills. She was the one who encouraged my FH to be present at our son's birth. Which was a great thing because after my FH held our son for the first time, there was no turning back. It was a rough couple of years, but she renovated her attic into a nursey, so the baby would have some place nice to stay. And when I got pregnant again last year, she said we could stay with her until we found our own place. When her son told her he wanted to marry me, she offered to pay for my ring. And now her and her husband are paying for most of our wedding.
I asked her shortly after we got engaged, why she's always supported me and always liked me. She said because me and her grandsons are the best things to come into her family in a long time. I told her once that everything that has happened between me and her son has been a accident. From our first meeting, to our first date, to our two sons, everything was an accident that just happened to turn out fine. She told me, there are no accidents, just destiny.
I love that woman!

Re: Mother-In-Laws
I tolerate my MIL. I'm courteous, but that's all.
She's a crazy b*tch as many of you may already know from LIW. I put up with her because she's DH's mom. But I don't like her or respect her as a person.
