HELP!! GOing food shopping tonight for me and DH!

You will probably need to buy alot of the VERY basic items:
Salt
Pepper
Sugar
Brown Sugar
Flour
Milk
Bread
Seasonings (garlic, oregano, onion salt)
Vanilla Extract
Butter
Oils
Pam or shortening to grease pans
Aluminum Foil
Then get some veggies, fruit, meat/chicken, sauces that you use (salad dressing, ketchup, bbq sauce, mustard) for some basic meals

nooo i def have-but this time its for myself-and im just starting out w/the basics...
This is my advice:
Go look in your mom's fridge. Make a list. Think about the dishes she makes and what you like. Ask her for a few simple recipes.
Things to think about:
Will you eat breakfast home or out?..buy lunch at work or take lunch?
Also, if your family was 4 people an she bought 2 lbs of meat for the week, you won't need that much.
Maybe she will go with you for the first time and help guide you?
My dad and I used to go together all the time. My dad was the shopper.
