Re: Would you live in a house if...
I dont know that i wouldn't want to live in it because of the creepy factor - but i think about how many times my friends and i used to drive by the amityville horror house late at night growing up...
so i wouldnt want to live in a house with that kind of notoriety because i wouldnt want people driving by my house all the time!

Yeah. I think I would be fine with it- clean up real good... it might be a little weird in the beginning but as I made it my home I would forget about it. It would be a great conversation starter!

EVERYTHING else would have to be perfect. There is no way I could settle for other things AND know that there was a murder there. I am too much of a scaredy pants. Every creek would freak me out.

Re: Would you live in a house if...
I could care less - You buy any house and make it YOUR home. - Who cares who/what lived there (or died there) before me. - My DH would probably disagree though.

I agree...a house is a house.
I agree also. And I really don't believe in the "bad energy" being in the house... if your house is old enough I am sure at one point someone had died in it, had an affair in it, got divorced in it, was robbed, etc and you would never know about it.

Re: Would you live in a house if...
My husband is obsessed with ghosts and haunted houses....he gets "feelings" in certain houses. So while I would move into a house that was known to have had a vioent crime - he probably wouldn't. Although, I could probably talk him into it.....

No way! Nothing happened in the house I live in now but sometimes I get the creeps, especially when I go into the basement. I fly up the stairs I get so scared sometimes.
I watch WAY too many scary movies

Re: Would you live in a house if...
If someone died in the house, fine, but if they died horrifically or violently, no. My greataunt lived with us a long time ago and died in the house (cancer). Shortly after, I painted and cleaned the room and moved in. It was MY room after that. But if someone died in a way that was not peaceful, then no. Don't need the energy.

Re: Would you live in a house if...
Someone killed themselves in my parent's kitchen by putting his head in an oven. I lived there for over 20 years and its didn't bother me or my family(my parents are still there) one bit.

Re: Would you live in a house if...
I don't know. I did live in an apartment that had been the scene of a murder/suicide (I was the first person to live there after it happened) and it didn't bother me too much. But I also knew that it would be temporary.

I live in a duplex apartment and after moving in found out that a teenager was killed in my living room by his bestfriend with a shotgun to the head. Yeah wasnt thrilled about finding out after we moved in.

Re: Would you live in a house if...
I would. It's in the past. How do you know something violent didn't happen years ago where you live now? There could have been a double murder in my place long before we were ever there.

Re: Would you live in a house if...
When we were shopping we came to one house and the agent told us that an older man lived in this house and he died in the pool in the backyard and I think he said he was in there for a while since he was home alone.
I found it creepy when I was there.

Same here (as your hubby). I have always been able to sense things. I know you all are going to think I'm weird now. My DH and I went to see a house someone he knew was selling..it was a man in his 70s whose wife just passed a few months before. Her presence was everywhere. I can totally tell when something is there....and it is not evil...people's energies just linger sometimes
