What brand crib did you buy?
We bought our crib and changing table today. I was so frustrated with my mother (who, yes, is very generously paying for it), that I just went with what she wanted becauseI honestly didn't care anymore. My parents are paying for it, and I wasn't going to argue over something that was a gift, however, I refused to let them spend too much $$ on it. But after re-reading Baby Bargains, I'm not so sure that the crib we got is even safe I mean, it got a B+, but I just feel like maybe we should have gone with something more expensive (which, btw, is what my mom REALLY wanted, but I didn't see the point in spending 500+ dollars on a crib). That was a mouthful, sorry, but anyway, wondering what brand crib everyone got?

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
We had a Pali.
B+ is a good rating (unless you're a straight A student). Not sure if you had time to read the whole Baby Bargains Book or if it's changed. My old copy said that in the end, all cribs in the US & Canada meet the same safety standards.

The first crib (which will remain in the current nursery for the new baby) is by Child Craft. Sarah's new crib is by Legacy, which is a division of Child Craft.

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
Ava's is a Morgeau Lepine and Jack's is Legacy.
The delivery guys from Behr's had nothing but great things to say about the Legacy brand crib.

Ours is a Bonavita Chloe crib. It was more than $500, but its also a convertibel crib. It will soon be moving to baby #2 and I have no complaints at all, it still looks brand new!

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
We got a Jardine. I really didn't like the more expensive cribs because most of them did not have a drop-side, and I'm short, plus, I didn't want a convertible because what's the point if I'm just going to use the crib for my next baby, anyway? Plus, with my parents paying for it, I really didn't want to have them spend so much money. I don't know. I am starting to think we got a crappy crib I mean, when it comes down to it, as someone else posted, all cribs in the US and Canada are made to meet the same safety standards, so I guess it's fine. Here's a picture of what we got:

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
I think it's the price that is making me feel like it's not good enough. My mom was harping on that all day and now I have it in my head that it's not a good crib because it was cheap. She eventually picked this one out, but she still was nagging me that we should have gotten a more expensive one.

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
we looked at the Jardine cribs also! They seemed to be good cribs to me...the only reason we went with the simmons was because we liked the color better than the Jardine natural color they had. I wouldnt worry about it. its a beautiful crib you picked!

My sister has this crib but in white. My niece is almost 3 and still sleeps in it every night. My sister has never had a problem with it. I wouldn't worry about the price. You saved money and got a very good crib. A B+ rating I think is great. I don't remember what brand I bought (i'm at work now and can't look), but I'm pretty sure that all the brands I was considering were rated B+ also because I wasn't willing to spend over $500 - $600 for a crib.
Also, I agree with you on the drop side. I too am short and did not get one of the convertible cribs for exactly the same reasons that you stated. I think you made a wise purchase.

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
We got a Morigeau crib closed out at Forever Young when they were going out of business. I never would've bought it full price, but once I saw it clearanced out I jumped on it. Ours had a B+ rating as well.
If the Jardine got a B+ rating then the authors of the book consider it a good crib on all fronts. There are a few that got A's, but I don't think you can make an argument, nor does the book that those crib are twice as good though they are twice the price. The Palis and Ragazzi's were $500 and $600 and sometimes more. We initially wanted the Jenny Lind crib. It was the only one we liked the look of out of all the cribs at BRU and it was hilarious that it was only $109.99 or $199.99 maybe. If it weren't for the fact that Baby Bargains gave it a bad review and rating, we would've bought it. I wouldn't worry. You did your research ahead of time. That's all you can do. If anything, if I were you I'd be proud that you were able to get one for that price and a sleigh crib at that. Those tend to be the most expensive b/c of the solid wood panels. It's beautiful and as long as it's the one you want then be happy. I tortured myself over cribs. There were just so many and so many that were truly outrageously expensive that it does get you thinking that you must have one of those in order to feel like you got the best. But that's crazy thinking.
We also wanted the drop side all along. i think you made a wise choice on that for sure. Image Attachment(s):

Re: What brand crib did you buy?
we bought a bambino convertible crib with 2 ragazzi dressers.
we went back and forth with regular vs. convertible crib and were all set to buy legacy when we found a great ragazzi deal...
i use the baby bargains book as a guide, but don't "live and die" by it.

We bought a Munire set which was given a top rating thru Baby Bargains but a B+ isn't bad imo. It's what you are comfortable with...
