They scare me, but I can see why they're effective. They show a horrible accident and people getting up and walking away from it. That's very powerful. One of the reaasons we picked the Jetta over less expensive cars (and for why my parents sprung for a bug for me when they bought me my car) was because VW's are known for being among the safest cars on the road, which having been in two horrible accidents, and having gotten up and walked out of the car, much like the commercial (which is I guess why the commericals bother me so much because I have those images in my mind to begin with), I'm thankful for how safe our cars are.
