4mo old pup sleep schedule?
I was off all summer and constantly took the dog out, my fault. She is getting better sometimes but her sleep is erratic and mornings are a nightmare here. She always wakes me up about 4:15/4:30 I let her go out to pee and she comes back in to sleep til usually 5/5:30 maybe. I am typically an early bird but today I have been up since 4:355am Maybe we can share schedule times?? I am still finding sleeping SO DIFFICULT I also add that I have a renter downstairs so when she cries I try to stop her and let her out real quick then put her back in the crate. What should I do???? Any suggestions????

Re: 4mo old pup sleep schedule?
I know just how this is. I had the same problem with my toy poodle last year and my pit mix a few months ago. WIth my poodle i tried wrapping one of those old ticking alarm clocks in a blanket and putting it in the cage with him. It worked for about a week but then all he wanted to do was be out of the cage. I also used to put his crate next to my side of the bed and just rest my hand on the top of it or right next to it and that sometimes worked.
Other than that i really have no more suggestions but she is a puppy and it will get better. I really couldn't do anything with my big guy cuz he was just way too big but i can tell you now he LOVES his crate. He cries if the door is closed at night so we open it and he can go to sleep. Hang in there though it will get better!

Re: 4mo old pup sleep schedule?
Can you take him out later at night? And then not allow or else limit the amount of water he has access to during the night, or after a certain time?
Does he need to go out for #1 or #2? If it's #2, try feeding him earlier.
Good luck!

Re: 4mo old pup sleep schedule?
Thanks for the replies! I pick her water up at 8pm. She woke up 4:35, went out to peep, came in feeding, ate, back to sleep for 45min, up to #2, back in for nap again, out at 6am for peep. It is just in and out and I get so upset, never had a good nights rest and DH works nights so it is me alone..I feel like pulling my hair out and She just never sleeps late, I am not a late sleeper but I am always up and out by 5am for food and letting her out. I am so exhausted

She is still a baby. Within the next month or so her bladder should start getting a little stronger and she should be able to hold it longer.

Re: 4mo old pup sleep schedule?
Do you take her out before you go to bed? Assuming you do, you may just have to wait until she can hold her bladder longer. Try getting her into a pattern now. - you take her out right before bed time, she goes in the cage. Your alarm clock goes off in the morning you take her immediately out. Even if you were up an hour before taking her out. You have to make her schedule for her.
Usually, by the time a dog is 6 months, they can hold their bladder for up to 4 hours, just to give you an idea. That can differ from dog to dog.

Re: 4mo old pup sleep schedule?
our pup was doing this too...but now at 4 mths old she will usually wake up at 6am. we let her out right before we go to bed...usually around 10:30-11:00, then she stays in her crate till 6...sometimes she whines...but its minimal and she stops and will go back to sleep.

Re: 4mo old pup sleep schedule?
Try taking away food and water at 7. Make sure she goes just before bed.
