4th grade book recommendations
Looking to get a class set of a title that would be good for keeping interest and teaching skills. Any suggestions?

Because of Winn Dixie....or an entire Kate DiCamillo author study. My 5th graders love her, but I think she is also appropriate for 4th grade.

What about anything by Ronald Dahl..James and Giant Peach, Witches etc. They love it!

I LOVED Fourth Grade Rats when I was in 4th and I read it Aloud my first year while I was teaching 5th.
A few people suggested Kate Di Camillo. I absolutely LOVE The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. There is so much to can do with that book with reading skills. But Tale of Despereaux is great as well.
Depending on where your students reading levels may be you can also do anything from the Judy Moody series.
