5 month old activities
I have seen some posts on this before, but I want to make sure there isn't anything more I should be doing with my DD.
Here is our schedule for the most part when she is awake:
Morning, we spend an hour in the bed or so, talking, playing with her hands, staring at the ceiling fan
Then, she spends some time in her bouncy seat while I make breakfast, bottles, do dishes, etc. After that she has a nap, then we play with toys while she lays on a mat. I usually give her things to hold, I shake toys and tell her about colors/textures, etc.
Then she spends some time on her activity mat, we do some tummy time. Then maybe the swing for a few minutes and the jumparoo. Mostly I sing and dance with her. I also read to her.
I feel like she gets bored of the same things over and over again.
I miss the warm weather, when she was born in July we walked so many miles each day!
What does everyone else do with their DC?

Re: 5 month old activities
Sounds like your doing a great job!! When dd was that age, they are still pretty young to do much. We pretty much did the same btwn naps, play matt alot trying to show her how to swat at the toys above her, she loved her bounce seat the most. Any month now her neck will stronger and will open up the door to new things to do with her.

Once they have more controll over their neck and holding their head up.. you got the exersaucer (but dont use leave DD in for more than 15-20 mins at time, bad for the hip development), we worked on rolling over by putting toys in different spots to get her to want to go to them, mostly we played on the floor alot working on strengthing her limbs and core muscles.

Re: 5 month old activities
We got jacen the music table for christmas and he LOVES it. It also helped him focus on sitting up for longer periods of time.
He was a few days shy of 6 months at that point.

is that from Leap Frog? We got that I think it is the same one and didn't think she would be ready at this point, she is not sitting. But I guess we can give it a try....another toy to throw into the mix

No it's the fisher price little superstar.
Ds just started sitting at 6 months old. He would sit before that, but only for a few seconds.
It's something to think about. She'll be ready in a few weeks.
Otherwise, at 5 months ds used the jumper a lot, the exercauser, we'd play in his crib for a bit, the activity gym, and would play with our dog jedi a lot. But pretty much it was the same things over and over again.

You should. Even if dd isn't sitting on her own or anything, she can still sit in your lap while you use it!

We have this. DS started sitting up at 5 1/2 months and still topples over at times but he loves this! His finger prints are all over the mirror from banging on it.
We do pretty much all the same stuff listed above and when all else fails, the Snugli and he just observes whatever me or DH is doing at the time.
