5 month old with cold

Emma developed a runny nose during the night. She never woke up during the night but was fussy. She does not have a fever. I called the doctor and the nurse said see how she is by tomorrow. If anything I can bring her in tomorrow to rule out an ear infection. He did not say to use a vaporizer. Do you think I should use one anyway?

my dd had nasal congestion at 3 & 4 months with no fever or other symptoms. We just used saline drops & the aspirator. Also, I raised the head of her mattress (though she rolls all over, so that didn't help) & a few times, put her in the car seat in the crib to sleep. Although her doctor won't agree, I think it is from teething. Her sinus tracts get irritated which make her stuffy. Oh, yeah, I also steamed up the bathroom & brough her in - that helped, too.

My DS is 6 months today, but has had a cold (congestion) for almost a month. He's been to doctor twice. No fever or ear infection and chest is clear. I hadn't been using humidifer and he wasn't sleeping well at all, but last night I used it and he actually slept pretty well, so I would say it can't hurt!

My ds is just getting over a cold and we used our cold mist humidifier and he slept "like a baby."

DS has had colds often from daycare. Whenever he's worse, but has no fever, we put on the humidifier, use saline and aspirator and I let him sleep in the swing since it's reclined instead of him being flat in the crib.
