Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
Yeah it sucks, but hopefully it will get better, it did for me. I think maybe around 7 or 8 months PP? Hang in there, I hated it!

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
I don't remember it being this bad the first time around...then again, I got pregnant only 3 months PP!!! But now at 5 months PP, my hair comes out in clumps!

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
It started around 4 months, but it's gotten a lot better at 6 months.

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
I posted about this about 1.5 months ago and its still terrible. I brought it up to the dr. who just laughed and said its normal. She did say I could see a dermatologist about it if I was overly concerned. My MIL, who owns a hair salon, also noticed and commented about it this week

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
Thanks ladies! Glad to see that it's normal! I started noticing it around 4 months pp but it has gotten worse lately. Hopefully only a couple more months left!

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
Its definitely gotten much better at 6 months. Months 4 and 5 were awful.
Between that and my DD pulling on my hair all the time, I was convinced I was going to be bald by Christmas.

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
The peak of hair loss started at 4 months. Now at 6 months, I feel like it is slowing down a bit but not completely done yet. I do not know how I am not bald right now.

Re: 5 Months PP and hair loss?
Totally normal.
It's because when you're pregnant all the hormons prevent you from shedding your hair daily like you normally do. That's why a lot of pregnant woman comment on how thick their hair seems.
Then after you have the baby and your hormones normalize, you start to lose 9 months worth of hair that you held onto when pregnant!!! When we lose hair daily we don't notice it as much. All at once is a bit alarming! It will slow down eventually!
