Locations for watching planes
Is there a good location in Suffolk to watch planes take off/land? Maybe a park near Macarthur airport or the airport in Shirley?

56th fighter group by the airport plaza in Farmingdale. They have an outdoor section in the patio.

Yes! We bring Nina out there to watch the planes. MacArthur doesn't really have that many areas that are nice and close, anymore.

We see the planes from Republic Airport when we are at the cemetery over there. I wish there was somewhere further east & closer to where we live.

The airport in shirley had a little area with grass and a picnic bench. Only thing is, I am not sure how often the planes take off.

Go to Skydive Long Island at in Calverton! Not only will you be able to watch the plane (sometimes planes) take off and land every 20 minutes but you'll be able to see all the skydivers land!!

We actually went skydiving there and I told DH I was going to bring Landon there to see the planes, but DH didn't think it was a good idea. He would love the parachutes too. Maybe I'll just go behind DH's back.

Why didn't your DH think it was a good idea?? I worked there for 5 years and saw families come out just to watch all the time!!
