That is on my way to and from work - I'll have to check it out tomorrow. Hope it doesn't cause a lot of traffic.

Re: Kitchen Nightmares - West Babylon?

Link to Newsday

The Fox reality show “Kitchen Nightmares,” starring celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, returned to Long Island today for a weeklong production at West Babylon’s Classic American restaurant.

In the show, Ramsay offers tough-love advice to restaurant owners whose operations have hit the skids and usually provides big-time building makeovers.

On Wednesday, crews could be seen setting up production equipment, but the owners weren’t available -- or, rather, allowed -- to talk.

Production at the restaurant, located at 691 Route 109, will run through Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 7 a.m. and midnight each day.

Fox spokeswoman Jennifer Prague said actual filiming will take place from Nov. 6 to Nov. 10.

“Kitchen Nightmares” has revamped other restaurants on Long Island, including Peter’s, an Italian restaurant in Babylon Village that has since gone out of business, The Mixing Bowl in Bellmore, Finn McCool’s in Westhampton and Handlebar in Mount Sinai

I live right by here. We like going here to eat. We were actually there last friday for dinner.

The staff is very friendly and its a nice change from the loud chain-restaurant atmosphere.

I love this place. I live nearby and yesterday on my wya home from work they were closed but theres a trailor set up outside and a tent over the front door. A lot of production stuff going on.

We were there abotu 2 weeks ago for lunch and they said that in a few weeks they were changing their menu but this is drastic Chat Icon If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I hope they don't change too much.

I love everyone there. They know my order by heart Chat Icon

Re: Kitchen Nightmares - West Babylon?

I'm sure they've seen a drop in business with the economy being so poor. They cater to a lot of the local families. Unfortunately, dining out is one of the first things people cut out when they have to tighten their budgets.

I hope this turns things around for them (the owners).

And that they paint the outside a different color. I'm not a fan of the aqua blue. Chat Icon

Re: Kitchen Nightmares - West Babylon?

We went.

When we got there we had to check in one of the tents on the back road.

We signed a waiver and our party had our picture table by holding up a number so they knew who everyone was.

Eventually it was our turn to go into the restaurant and one by one groups were being seated.

They taped us walking in and getting seated.

From there it was dinner as usual with their staff.

The menu and the staff were the same.

We were told to have normal conversations and a video camera would come by with a mircophone to "tape" us talking and eating.

That was really it. When we were first seated there wasn't too many people inside - very empty.

However, by the time we were finished it was very crowded.

nope - we all got our regular items. It was the same menu as last weekend.

Gordon Ramsey was in the kitchen the whole time. He came out a few times but that was really it.

Re: Kitchen Nightmares - West Babylon?

Well so far I had lunch reservations for Saturday that got cancelled on Friday. they then rescheduled me for Sunday night at 7... I went last night at 6:45 and at about 8:30, they told us all that we were not going to get in last night. They then told us that we would get in monday night at 7pm and it would be the Re-launch!

So at least after all the waiting and BS, we will get to go to the Grand Reopening...

The worst part of the it was that I had my 76 year old mother with me and the pool old lady was standing around that whole time..!! She is a trooper though, she wants to go back tonight!!!
