6-foot heros - where's good? Waldbaums?
I have to order several 6-ft heros. Has anyone tried those from Walgreens? If so, how were they? Any other place you'd suggest near Massapequa?
Thx!

I am pretty sure Waldbaums doesnt use boars head when making heroes so I am not a big fan. Id stick to Stop and Shop or a local deli that does.

Try Giunta's Meat Farms. They have heros. $12 per foot for regular cold cuts or $14 per foot for Boar's Head. For every foot you also get a pound of salad.

We use Broadway Gourmet on Broadway. DH usually likes to get the bagel hero.

we get ours at BJ's as well, can't beat the price. the only thing is that you have to slice it yourself.

If you live anywhere near Port Jeff Station, Buttercup Dairy makes the best heroes!!!!

If you live anywhere around East Islip, Village Market has Boars Head heroes for $9.99/ft and they cut them.

Re: 6-foot heros - where's good? Waldbaums?
Town Deli on Park Blvd in Massapequa Park has the BEST heros. It's in the IGA shopping center.
And salads. Definitely homemade - not vinegar tasting like almost every other place.
Whoever they get their bread from is the best b/c it's SO soft.
My DH used to work at Fairway on Broadway so we always ordered from them - but I finally convinced him to order from Town Deli - and OMG - even my FIL thought it was the bomb.
Go there and try a 1/4 lb. of each salad. Then order from them. Trust me.
