6 Month Mark - Stress and TTC

Hi everyone! I am starting my 6th month of TTC after my M/C, so in reality I count the time before the M/C too so this has been going on way too long.

This month I took it really hard when AF came last week and was really really down for a few days. I usually got over it within a few hours.

My question is for anyone out there who has been TTC for a while, at what month did you start to seriously get worried or upset?

Also, do you think stress really impacts TTC? Are you doing anything to reduce your stress?

I have stress 24/7 because of my job, family health issues, and various other thing.

I have just passed by original due date and never thought I wouldnt be PG by now. Even my doctor said that he will see me soon (which was at my post D & C checkup many months ago).

Baby olympics (that is what we call it here!) is going to start in 2 days and that usually makes me more positive, especially if we cover the good days!

I'm so sorry you are moving on to month 6 I really hope you get your BFP this coming cycle!

As for stress effecting the process, I definitely think it does, I just don't know how to not be stressed! I wish I had some good advice for you

after 2 m/c & 5 failed months of TTC, i asked my RE if drinking, stress, coffee, etc. was affecting our ability to get PG. he basically blew it off and said people get PG by accident while they abuse their bodies, and unless it's extreme, it doesn't have a noticeably impact.

that said, stress does have a BIG impact on the baby's development, so if you're TTC, maybe you should force yourself (even if you have to consciously schedule it) to make time to unwind and decompress. and coach yourself to stay calm even when things are nuts. that's what my yoga teacher always says: you can't control outer environment, but you can control your reaction to it.

Thanks everyone!!! I do have to work at improving my reaction to stress but it will be a challenge. Its crazy but I actually have a cry buddy at work. We have worked for the same firm for 10 years and a few times a year we break down from the pressure and cry! We never let the men see us of course! I don't want to leave so I am going to try to deal. I actually just told her that I am ttc! I can't wait to work pt when I finally have a lo!

you & I are pretty much on the same cycle- and both going on 6 mo.
I am a worrier and I wish I coud tell you how to reduce your stress but I cant.
I just wanted to say that I hope this is your month. Stay positive!

I am not a great source to be giving advice but just wanted to let you know that once I read stress can cause ovulation to NOT happen. So try to relax if you can! Also sending you a hug!!!!
