6 Months Old: Meat -- Poll: Do you buy Stage 1 meat or Do you make your own?
I've been buying Gerber Organic and sometimes I have to pick up the non-Organic/Beechnut--if they don't have it in stock--Fruit and Veggies. DS seems to like them.
Buying meat in a jar sounds weird, but I really don't have the desire to make my own. I had them growing up and I turned out fine. Are the meat just as good as the Fruit and Veggies?

I tried to jarred Gerber Stage 1 meats.
In a word, Nasty! Blech! They all smelled like dog food. I tried mixing with a veggie (in a little bowl- by recommendation of ladies on here). DS still wouldn't eat it.
Again, by other recommendations on here and from Ped (who concurred that the jarred meats were yuck) I gave DS the Gerber Stage 2 dinners- meat and veggie already mixed and NOT stinky! DS LOVED them.

We tried them all, stage 1,2,3,organic,etc. DS was not a fan of any of them. But every child is different.

I've been making Kristina's since she was OK'd to have meats.
I think I have only bought her jarred meats once and that was only b/c I was running errands, and didn't have her meat with me as I was taking longer to get things accomplished than I wanted to.

We never gave Stage 1 meats but went to Stage 2 at 6 months old. DS loves all the Stage 2 Beech-Nut meats that have chicken in them. Chicken and applesauce is his fave!

no way...it all looked nasty to me..I made it...
I have a great grinder-blended it fine and thinned it with chicken broth or beef broth. added veggies and all to it

I used to mix the meats with fruit/veggies and he'd eat it that way. Smelled gross but if he ate it I was fine with it!
When he got a bit older and had teeth I gave him tiny pieces of turkey/chicken/meatballs that we ate and he loved it so I stuck with that.
