6 weeks and a fever...

I was FREEZING last night, could get warm so i went to bed. DH came to bed and said i felt like i did when i had that crazy fever with the staph, i was hot all over and had goosebumps. I feel a little better today but is that bad to have a fever at 6 weeks? Should i let the OB know or not worry about it since im feeling better...

For me I would let the OB know. They might be able to tell you what to do if you get another one. You don't want to have the fever stay or get high.

Re: 6 weeks and a fever...

I am six weeks too and I have been feeling so crappy! I was debating on going to my regular doctor. I called the OB yesterday (I told them I have a bad cough) and they said I could take certain things for it. I am so scared though because I am only six weeks!

Did you take your temperature? I'd call the doctor and and let him know what the temperature is. I don't think it is a huge reason for concern, but that's what they are there for. Hope you feel better.

I hope you feel better soon! If I were you, I would call the doctor and tell him the temperature for the pat 24 hours and see what he has to say. You don't have anything to loose but a phone call. Get plenty of rest tooChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: 6 weeks and a fever...

I have never had a fever while pregnant. So I would definitely give the OB a call. They may not even really be concerned, but I'd rather be overcautious and let them know.

I had a fever early on too. I would call the OB just to let them know. I know they really want it to stay under a certain temp.

Re: 6 weeks and a fever...

glad you are feeling better.
Last wed. i had a 101.5 fever at about 6 1/2 weeks. i called the doc and she told me I could only take tylenol to get the fever down. I only had extra strength and she said that was fine plus plenty of liquids. She also assured me that the fever or the tylenol would not affect the baby- had a sono 2 days later everything was good, strong heartbeat.

I would definitely call anyway for your own peace of mind, but don't stress, its good it went away on its own. I was reading on google Chat Icon that a fever too high, like over 102 could be a concern, but i'd rather just not worry about that and listen to my OB lol
