6-year old boys' music
Can someone please tell me what kind of music 6 year old boys like? I want to make a cd as a gift for someone. Thanks!

My six year old DS really doesn't listen to the radio or regular music yet. He loves the They Might Be Giants "Here Come the 123's" CD though.

Don't laugh too hard but my stepkids LOVE Neil Diamond! Whenever we are driving somewhere everyone belts out the songs the whole way. DH and I love ND and started playing his greatest hits cds and all of the kids love him. I have 3 stepkids: SS- 8yrs, SS- 6 yrs and SD- 4yrs. 
ETA: All of the kids love Taylor Swift also.

Maybe you could find out the childs favorite movies or shows and use the theme songs from them? Disney has a lot of movie music CDs and I have heard great reviews about the They Might Be Giants CD as well! We don't own it my 2 year old is unfortunately a huge fan of inappropriate music not nursery rhymes-he is into Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Pink and Katy Perry-LOL he cracks me up he requests songs by names he made up for them too!

DS LOVES Black Eyed Peas and Queen!  He likes a lot of hip-hop type music. Lady Ga-Ga, Britney, etc.
Both him and 3yo DD are constantly singing parts of "Boom Boom Pow", "We are the Champions", "We will Rock you", etc..

My six year old likes Louis Armstrong, Jeff Buckley, U2, Siouxie and The Banshees, Metallica, Old Madonna, The Cure, Holst, Sublime, NIN,The Smiths, Pearl Jam.. Basically he listens to whatever we listen to! I'd probably make a tape that takes a cue from his parents musical tastes.
The 'kid' music he likes right now includes Miley Cyrus and The Naked Brother's Band.

My 3 years olds & my 7 year old sing those songs ALL the time.
Anything catchy & on the radio really. They also love the Kidz Bop songs. (kids singing to the hits (annoying for parents)

My DS likes a CD a Mom in his class made for the kids for the year end. It has stuff like I like to move it from Madagascar, Cha Cha Slide, Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi, Hamster Dance, Funkytown (Alvin & chipmunks version), Spiderman theme, Our TIme is Now by Plain WHite T's. All are big hits with all my kids, esp the first 2.
