Don't want to start the whole FTWM vs SAHM debate but after a discussion with friends, I was curious about how you all felt.

FTWM.
Most of the time I wouldn't have it any other way but sometimes I feel like if I cuold do part time it would give me more time to get things done.
Time is TIGHT right now and I feel like I"m always behind!

I have been a PTWM and a SAHM. Both were great.
I think PTWM is the best of both worlds though.

I am a FTWM..I would LOVE to be a PTWM..that would be the best of both worlds.....because even though I would LOVE to be home with DD..going to work is nice too...having some adult interaction and getting a like break.

Yeah I need other too. I work Mon-Fri January - May and Tue-Fri June-Dec. Works great for me but ideally I'd like to work only 3 days a week. Oh well until I hit the lottery this will have to do.
I love my kids and enjoy being a Mom but I do like to work and get out of the house also.

I am a PTWM. But due to my schedule I was only working weekends for the longest time. So I was a SAHM during the work and working mom on weekends.
Now I work 4 days. I go to work when DC is in school. I am home by the time DC comes home. Works out great! I still bring $$ home.

I went from a full time SAHM for 5 years to a PTWM now that my kids are in school full days. I feel like I have the best of both worlds. I am home when my kids are. I work in the field I always did and I actually enjoy it. I have vacations when the kids do and I am off for most of the summer (I work when DH is home with the kids).
No complaints.

Plus, I don't know ANY different. I've ALWAYS been a FTWM. I don't know if I would like or love being a SAHM or a PTWM more than a FTWM. For now, with only one kid, it seems to work for us.

FTWM here.
I work two jobs though and wish I had ONE job (and my OLD job in San Diego) - that IMO was best of both worlds for me.

SAHM..........LOOOOOOOOVE it!!!! I don't miss teaching one bit, I enjoy every minute of being home. But then, I've always been a bit of a homebody and being a SAHM is always what I've wanted to do so it's perfect for me. I am happy!

im a sahm and i wont lie i would love to get out and get a part time job but daycare is to expensive and dh works during the day the goes to classes at night so i could only work weekends but i dont want to do that since thats our only "family time" all together.. So for now i suck it up. lol dont get me wrong i love being home n getting to spend time with dd but i need/want more adult interaction and my brian wants to be used again.

I guess this is me too.
I still cry ALMOST every day but that's an improvement!! I wouldn't work if we didn't need the money.
BUT I am very proud of myself. I am usually very dependent on others but now I am supporting my family, including my parents. I am also NOT giving up what I would have done if I were a SAHM like giving DD only breast milk and making her food.

I'm other. I work from home. While I am glad that I get to stay home with my kids, I also have very little interaction with other adults.
I think the perfect solution would be to work 2 days out of the home.

Me too. My salary provides so much for the family but I also do not want to leave DS! I am thankful though for my teaching job that I do love. Sometimes we are called to do things we would rather not. I remind myself of this daily.
