7 week old skipping a feeding

I usually nurse her for 10 minutes and then give her a bottle, today she woke up at 12, after eating at 9, nursed her for not even 5 minutes, changed her as I was warming up the bottle and she had one ounce of the bottle and is now back to sleeping?!!??!?!
Do you think she could be sick, or is able to go for longer stretches before eating, since she really didn't wake up hungry I just fed her bc it was routine, (I know dumb) she really woke up bc of gas, which I realize now...what do you guys think???

She might be going through a growth spurt.... Kristina tends to sleep a lot through those.

Re: 7 week old skipping a feeding

#1 routine is NOT dumb at all! I did AJ every three hours like clockwork, whether she asked for it or not. We finally got into a pattern and it was priceless. Some go for routine, others dont. Its up to you.

#2 Sometimes they just aren't hungry anymore. *shrug* I didnt get a chance to BF past 11days but they did warn me sooner or later the milk would change a little and the baby would either be hungier or fill up faster or no change at all (not helpful, right? thats what I said) they said it was just to let me know she will change her feeding habits. As long as she eats consistantly, has wet diapers, mood isnt significantly changed and not feverish, then its fine.

#3 then again.. I called the pedi and saw them for lots so I say if you really worry, see a pedi anyway, what can it really hurt?

#4 I agree it could be a growth spurt around 8 weeks AJ did that and she went from normal to sleeping LOTS to not sleeping at all Chat Icon Ugh!
