7 weeks & still waiting to see the doctor
I am reading all of these posts about the 6-week sonograms & my doctor won't see me until 8 1/2 weeks. I have not even seen a doctor to get bloodwork or anything. My 1st appointment is next week & I am sure my sonogram won't be done at that appointment. i believe I have to come back the following week (1st week In November) to have a sonogram.
I am just anxious WAITING!!!! Is my doctor normal????

A lot of girls that have sonos before 8 weeks are seeing and RE. I would say half of the pregnant women on here who are NOT seeing an RE son't have sonos befor 8 weeks. A lot of OBS don't like to do them before then because there is a chance not everythign is developed yet and will cause unecessary worry.
Don't worry your Dr is not abnormal.

A lot of people who have sonos before 8 weeks are seeing a RE -
I didn't see my Dr. for my 1st appt and sono until 9 weeks.

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm about 7 or 8 weeks (I'm not 100% sure b.c I have irregular cycles) and I was supposed to see my OB on tuesday but DD came down with a bad virus (found out yesterday when she got her rash) the ped says she has roseola. So since she was sick I didn't want to bring her to my OB office and risk getting a pregnant woman sick (I didn't have anyone to watch her). So I had to bump my appt and the next available appt is Halloween so i have to wait another week. Oh and I hear my OB doesn't do a sono 1st visit.

I agree completely with this. I went too early and didnt see anything and have done nothing but worry since then. Believe me when I say, if you're not having any problems, you're definitely better off waiting.

My doc won't see a new pregnant woman before 6 weeks, at which time he does the first sono. We got to see the heartbeat then.

I was being seen by an RE and that is the ONLY reason i've been getting the weekly u/s and bloodwork done. We didn't have ANYTHING done by the RE, as we were waiting for CD1 and it never came, but they still consider me 'with them'...

I had my first sono at 5/6 weeks, but I was seeing an RE. I had my first appointment with my OB at 8 weeks.

My first appt was 8weeks.
I knew I was preggo and I knew they'd do a sono but it was still sorta surreal to see it in there was the heartbeat. It was so .. sudden.. if that makes any sense.
Just hang in there!

i was livid that no one would see me until 7 weeks but its for the best...you don't want to add unecessary worry when you don't see a heart beat! hang in there! the wait will be worth it!

my Dr office told me they usually do not see patience until at least 7 week- 8 weeks. I will be going next week for my first appointment and I think I will be 7 weeks. But I will also NOT have a sonogram because this office I'm going to doesn't have it there. So I'm alittle bummed about that.
Just relax perfectly normal
