7 yr. old "Halloween" Bday Party at Home
Besides having the kids get dressed up, what other things could I do if I decided to have a bday at home. My house is not that big also.

Re: 7 yr. old "Halloween" Bday Party at Home
My DS just had a 5th party with a spooky theme....Here are a few things we did:
Mummy wrapping contest
Skelton bone hunt...I bought plastic skeltons at the dollar store and took them apart (they were different colors) I spilt the kids into teams and they did a hunt for the bones I hid...The first team to put their skeleton man back together won...You could also use the jointed cardboard ones..
Caramel apple dipping: multiple toppings for the kids to make their own caramel apple
Hot potato- But we passed a plastic skull
I made feely boxes and we made a spooky tent type of thing..My DH dressed up like a mad scientist

I thought about apple bobbing too--
I am just pricing out places and they have gotten soooo expensive. I was thinking it might be cheaper at home. I just am not looking forward to the mess-lol!! If I could do most things outside, I will be fine--

Re: 7 yr. old "Halloween" Bday Party at Home
I had Halloween birthday parties a bunch of times when I was a kid. We always had apple bobbing, I think we made caramel apples once or twice, costume parade and everyone at the party voted for best costume.

Re: 7 yr. old "Halloween" Bday Party at Home
ohhh my BFF's birthday is November 1st... so growing up she always had a halloween/costume party. They would do a "haunted house" thing downstairs... the whole 9 with cobwebs, spooky-ish music... green light bulbs... we would get blind folded and have to guess what we were putting our hands in... she would have cold pasta in water and say it was brains etc.
It was always my favorite birthday party to go to!

Pumpkin Carving (always fun, and can be their party favor in the end)
Pumpkin Hunt Game - buy a bunch of little pumpkins and hide them around the house. The one finds the most gets a prize.
Mummy Wrap - Twist your guests into a frightening frenzy with this simple game that has kids writhing with delight.
What You Need: White crepe paper & Spooky music
Instructions: Divide the kids into teams of two and give each pair a roll of white crepe paper. Instruct one member of each team to race to wrap his partner, mummy-style, at the sound of the music (play something devilish, such as "The Monster Mash"). Kids must use up the whole roll, avoiding the head and wrapping arms separately from the torso.
Once wrapped, the mummy hops to a finish line, holding his arms to his sides and trying not to break any of the wrapping. Award the winning team.
Witch's Stew Game
What You Need: Straws Construction paper Bowl
Instructions: Before the party, ask your kids to help you cut ten Halloween shapes, such as ghosts, bats and pumpkins from construction paper. Each shape should be about the size of a silver dollar. Place the shapes in a pile beside a small bowl.
Using the straw as a vacuum, each contestant tries to pick up a shape and place it in the bowl to create the Witch's Stew. Time the players to see who can get all ten in the bowl the fastest.

Everyone gave great ideas.
I have nothing else to offer but this. You have to make these. I think they are awesome and the kids will love them. Maybe they could decorate them. Skeleton Cupcakes
