7m old waking up multiple times a night
DS#2 has always been a great sleeper. He is now teething. His first tooth is cutting through now. Last night he woke up screaming ever 2 hours.
I want to CIO but DS#2 wakes up DS#1. Ahhhh. I need sleep. I feel like I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in 3+ yrs.
Anyone else's teething DC waking up often at night? Any advice?

CIO? I don't know, he's obviously in a lot of pain from teething. What about some Tylenol before bed?

No, they don't share a room but are in rooms right next to one another.

Re: 7m old waking up multiple times a night
OMG I could have written your post! Actually I pretty much did the other day lol. Yup, 7 month old DD was up every 2 hours for a few days. Last night was a little better, but we will see about tonight. She shares a room with DS and it sucks! She constantly wakes him up and he wants to come to our bed. Very frustrating and exhausting. Especially because she had been sleeping 9-6 straight through.

Re: 7m old waking up multiple times a night
My 7m old has never STTN, she has been waking up multiple times a night since she was born, I'm exhausted. My only advice is CIO. We'll be doing this once she is in her own room.

ITA. DS got his first tooth a few weeks ago and we just gave him Tylenol when he woke up screaming.

Re: 7m old waking up multiple times a night
I went through it with Nicholas until he was about 13 months. He would wake several times during the night & he has not gotten any new teeth. DS#1 would wake if we left DS#2 screaming. I bought a sound machine for #2 & we eventually let him CIO in the middle of the night, sometimes crying/screaming for 1+ hours. It worked though, DS#2 now sleeps from 630-545.

Agreed! I am not sure how you can let a teething baby just CIO ? If you are sure it's teething, I would do either tylenol or motrin before bed so that you aren't chasing after the pain all night.

Re: 7m old waking up multiple times a night
Ds will be 7 months on the 31st. He'll tease us and STTN for a week and then wake again. Currently it's @ 3a.m. I really don't want to CIO especially since we can hear him, and I'm awake anyway. I've been bringing him into our bed where he settles immediately. I know it's starting a bad habit but I go back to work soon and I need sleep!

Re: 7m old waking up multiple times a night
I have no advice but to tell you my DS is 6mo and I am planning on doing CIO as well. DS1 is nearly 4 and does wake when DS2 cries loudly so my plan is to do CIO on Friday night, then when DS1 wakes, DH will go lay in bed with him. I figure if he doesnt get a good night sleep he can veg all day on Saturday. And if I start Friday night DS1 doenst have school again until tuesday so if DS2 responds to CIO the way DS1 did (it took 3 nights then no more crying) we should be good by the DS needs to get a good nights sleep!
Fingers crossed!!!

Re: 7m old waking up multiple times a night
my son is 7 months old and has always been a good sleeper- but last week he started to wake up screaming in the middle of the night as well- the pain from his teeth coming in. I now give him baby advil before bed and he sleeps thru the night again. I dont think CIO would work if he is waking from pain- so try meds before bed while teething- hope it works and you get some sleep :)
