8-11 mth olds, solids ? - do you give them larger foods to chew off of or still breaking it up for them
Are you giving any larger items for DC to hold and chew? If so what?
Or are you still breaking up the food to tiny bits?

I cut everything into little pieces. I find it's still taking her awhile to chew most things.
So far, her favorite is mango!

if its a soft food,i will give a bigger piece, like banana slices for example, but i still cut everything up small. i try to make it so she can pinch it with her fingers.

this is what I do, DD will not eat purees anymore I cut up pieces for her that she can pick up if I feed her and put it in her mouth I'll give her bigger pieces, I usually only give her softer foods, if it's hard I'll make it smaller

I break them up. THey don't get the concept of biting and will just try to shove the whole thing in their mouths.

Well, at 13 months, DD is finally getting her top teeth. So she hasnt been able to break off a lot of things herself.
at around 10 months i started giving her the keebler club multigrain crackers. those were easy enough for her to do herself. Also soft bread with jelly would work too. I would cut it in 4's and give her a square. I just, at 12 months started slicing the banana down long ways and giving that to her
eta- when i first started , I would watch her like a hawk and if she took too much in her mouth I would put my hand to her mouth and she would spit it out. Now at 13 months she doesnt try to bite off huge pieces

I'm the same as PPs but I also notice DS does GREAT with the BAaby MumMums, They really helped him figure out "holding" and "biting"!!!
