8 inches or more possible Sunday into Monday
Ready for another messy Monday morning commute?
Depending on the track of a cold air mass moving in, there's the potential for 8 inches or more of snow on Long Island starting Sunday night and continuing through Monday, forecasters said.
As of late afternoon Thursday, computer models indicated that Long Island would likely be "in the part of the system that's cold enough for primarily snow," said Joey Picca, National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton. The most significant snowfall was expected for Monday, he said.
Still, "any change in the track and intensity of the system may have an impact on the amount and type of precipitation expected," the weather service said in a hazardous weather outlook.
The forecast Thursday afternoon was for a wintry mix to start falling late Sunday, said Ashley Sears, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton.
Before the storm, get ready for another chill. Friday and Saturday could see record-breaking temperatures at Long Island MacArthur Airport, where lows of 10 and 13 are forecast, respectively, the weather service said. Today's record low is 13 degrees, set in 1994, and tomorrow's is 14 degrees, set in 1994.

I just asked about this on the other thread. Ugh, and so much melted last weekend with the warms days. Now, we will barely able to walk on the lawn again. Waaahhh

This whole "Winter Storm Titan" is really cramping my style. As a teacher in a LI district, we've taken TOO MANY snow days. I am seriously nervous about not finishing the state curriculum and hate that in order to make up the snow days, we've lost vacation days and might have to add on days to the end of the school year AFTER the regents. We had like 2 snow days that I think should have just been delayed openings. Ugh.

I'm scheduled for a c-section next week and have pre-surgical testing Monday morning, and REALLY don't need to be cleaning 8inches of snow off my car to get there. Or even shoveling my walkway/driveway to be able to get out at 91/2 months pregnant! Guess my DH will have to take off Monday too.
I also really didn't want to even think about snow in MARCH! I know it happens, but usually not major storms. I'm. SO. DONE.

We are going on vacation next week (HOOOOOORAAAAAAAY) and we were supposed to fly out Monday morning. This morning my husband changed our flights to Sunday morning so we don't risk getting snowed in. The change fee was worth it to us to finally go somewhere warm!

I ALWAYS used to get excited for snow but I can't anymore bc of the fear I have of driving my son to daycare/familys house on my way to work --I am like so paranoid I will get stuck and he will be with me , its slightly irrational I know

Eh, it is what it is.
I can't get upset over $hit I cannot control.
I have milk, I have bread, I have a freezer full of food.
Good to go.
Just hope that it is winter's last hurrah.
