would a party with only 3 people be worth your time and energy? I am supposed to have a party Sunday, only two friends and I will be there. Part of me wants to say, what the hell, let's do it, but I don't want to waste the consultant's time either. I chose a bad weekend. Chat Icon

For me it would depend on a few things. How far will the consultant have to travel to you? Is it possible you might get some outside orders from people who can't make it?

I used to do Tupperware parties. We would not turn down a party even if it were only 3 people, because you never know what those 2 guests can turn into...if one books a party, it could be a $1k party, or it could turn into 5 more parties, or one of them could decide to start selling themselves. We were always told to never cancel. As a hostess, I would cancel though...to me it was not worth my time and money to do it with only 2 friends coming.

I went to a jewelry party once and there only ended up being 3 or 4 people there, I think she had a couple people order stuff over the phone. I ended up buying about $100 worth of stuff and had yummy food and drinks and caught up on gossip.

It was a fun night out if anything.

I agree. "Nothing" can always turn into "something" I would try to get outside orders, post on Facebook about it and if people cant make it they can still order. Remind people that Mother's Day and Father's day are coming, as well as any birthdays that may be coming up too.

As the hostess you have to decide if you want to postpone the party. But if it was me, I wouldn't.

I would ask the consultant. She may still want to do it, or she may prefer postponing it until you can have a few more guests. I would let her make the call. It's her time, so I think that's only fair.

I'll do a party as long as I'm not the only one there. Some of my highest selling parties are with the least amount of people.

More intimate. I never say no.
