They should castrate him and lock him in a 6x6 cell alone with nothing to do for the rest of his pathetic life. I'm glad they found the POS. My thoughts are with her family.

i hope they found the right person. i read that he volunteered his dna -- why would someone who is guilty volunteer their dna? very confused about that part of it. either way, hopefully the family can get closure and the right piece of trash can go away

excellent work by the NYPD. Saw the perp walk, he looks like he's got mental defects to me. I mean anyone who would do this obviously is defective.
Very close to where I live. Glad the NYPD got this psycho off the streets. RIP Karina and justice is coming.

I am curious why pple think this is fishy? They had made it known in the past that they had dna but no match. This guy pops in the system and he matches the dna. Why is that weird?

I don't know what would be fishy either? This guy has no record, but awhile back before the murder a cop noticed him acting strangely in Howard beach and called it in. So when this guy came back on the radar bc of that, he gave a DNA sample when the cops interviewed him and it was a match.
They had his DNA from under her fingernails, on her phone and at the crime scene.

I guess there was no connection to the jogger murder in MA that happened not long after. I don't remember the exact timeline and I may have forgotten the MA case but I was in that area with my family the day it happened.

Just read an article that his father showed his hs diploma from Martin De Porres high school when speaking to the press; this school is in my neighborhood, the kids are absolutely wild, i've had run ins with some of them blocking my car in the road, and it is not far from the crime scene just over the bridge. it is a school for kids who have behavior issues and have been thrown out of regular school.

I remember the sketch. Imy going to look it up.
It did surprise me that he didnt have a record.
Hell of a first crime to commit .

A mysterious man whose likeness was sketched by a police artist could hold the key to solving the murder of a Howard Beach jogger.
Police released the drawing Wednesday of a potential witness to the slaying of Karina Vetrano, who was found facedown in Spring Creek Park on Aug. 2. Police said the bearded man was seen coming out of the weeds near the Belt Parkway around the time 30-year-old Vetrano was killed.
“We want to speak to this person because we feel that he was there,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said. “He is not a subject. He is not even a (person of interest).
”

His dna was not in the system. He had never been arrested before so his dna was never in the system. He gave a dna sample when he was questioned and it was a match.

i agree he looks nothing like the sketch, and it is weird that he would voluntarily give dna sample if he is guilty but i have faith in the nypd, the samples match so it looks like this is the guy.
i pray it is and it gives the family and friends some peace.

Really? I think the eyes are spot on...just different emotion Bc the sketch shows how someone saw him after he killed someone. Photo shows him in police custody.

this. I don't think the man they arrested is the actual killer. the man being lead out in cuffs, was smiling and looked visually off. I don't think hes dealing with a full deck. I think hes just a scapegoat. what killer is willing to hand over DNA? I wouldn't.
