Baby c-UPDATE 3-second opinion
Hi ladies,
I got really sad news at the doctor yesterday with my triplets. Baby C's growth is declining. He is falling behind the other two. The doctor came in to speak to us and told us that he doesn't think it's the twin to twin transfusion syndrome. At least if it was the syndrome, they could fix it was laser surgery. The doctor said he saw something on the ultrasound. Baby B and baby C are sharing a placenta and because of that we knew that one twin would be larger. But baby C's Umbilical cord is in the wrong spot :( it's supposed to be attached to the placenta in the middle and it's attached on the edge which is why he is smaller than the other two. He is getting nutrients and blood but just not enough. We are devastated.
The high-risk doctor is sending me to Winthrop Hospital today just to confirm this. But if this is the case there's nothing they can do about Annabel's of course it's attached in the wrong spot of the placenta. The babies heart is eventually going to give out and stop.
Please pray for us to get through this appointment today and have the strength to endure the news that is coming..
Update:
Not a good update. Hard decisions to make. Baby c is going to die they suspect just don't know when. And it's starting to affect baby b the other identical because baby b is actually getting too much blood supply from baby c and it is putting baby b at risk now. So it's terrible. I either terminate baby c or leave him be and let nature take its course and hope for the best. I am emotionally drained from crying all night. The doctor said whatever decision I make I have to make it and just move on and never look back. But I don't want to terminate! I am catholic and love ALL 3 of these babies. I just am so tore. Lose one to save two or take a risk and see if all 3 make it :(
Update 3:
Baby c is going to die. He has only 2 blood vessels in his cord and has a whole in his heart plus he is falling very behind his brothers. My husband and I have no words and are devastated . Three doctors have confirmed it now. Children's hospital of Philadelphia was really nice when we saw them today and told us if they could save him they would have.. please keep my husband and I in your prayers.

Re: Baby c
I'm praying for you but please don't lose hope.
While I was only pregnant with twins, they were sharing a placenta and baby B had a velamentous cord (not in the center) and her cord only had two vessels. Yes, she was smaller and til this day (almost two years later) is still about 2 lbs smaller but she's doing amazing! She's growing and as sharp as a whip! I was referred to Withrop to see Dr. Chavez and many more AMAZING doctors there. I was seen once a week at 20 weeks, then twice a week by 30 weeks and 3 times a week til I delivered.
We had to decide by 24 weeks if we wanted to do cord restriction on baby B because of the risks to baby A. We chose to decline the restriction and move forward with both babies. THANK GOD everything went smoothly and we made it to 36 weeks and I delivered via c sections.
The news will not be good news. Week after week it never seemed to get better for us. But she was still growing and we never lost hope. I cried after every appointment. I'm sure the risks are greater with triplets but please, don't lose faith. I just wanted to offer you some hope. I'll be thinking of you and praying

Re: Baby c
Did they refer to this as a marginal cord insertion? I have that with my current pregnancy. I have heard so many different things about this condition, including that it can rectify on its own as the baby grows. Praying for you and your babies
