9-12 month olds - feeding question
What are you feeding your 9-12 month old? And how much formula? I'm not sure I'm giving her enough. And I'm trying to introduce more table food, just not sure what & how.
TIA!

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
My little guy is almost 15 months now, but I remember when we increased table foods. He got three 6-oz bottles a day, and his "real food" was given to him about an hour after each bottle so he'd be hungry enough to eat. Hope this helps!

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
When DS was that age (he started reg. milk at 11 moths old) he was taking anywhere from 3 - 4 8 oz bottles everyday.

DS is 10 months old and almost entirely on table food. He eats 3 6oz bottles a day after breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
Nikolas is almost 11 months old but has been on 3 bottles a day (about 6 oz approx) for awhile now.. We are about to transition him to milk in the next week per my ped's recommendation.
He has one bottle first thing in the Am when he gets up (before breakfast). Usually anothermidday (time varies depending on naps, etc,. always after lunch though) and one bottle before bed (after dinner)
He is still doing some jarred foods, because he was slow to 'take' to eating table foods .. but he's starting to hate the baby food lately. Now he'll eat hamburger, meatballs, chicken, veggies, eggs, pancakes, waffles.. you name it. He'll also usually have a snack in the afternoon between lunch and dinner (puffs, crackers and cheese, cereal bar, fruit, etc)
he drink juice/.water during the day as well (no specific amount, just depending upon how thirsty he is.)

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
DS is 10mths old and has 3/4 8oz bottles per day along (1 first thing when he wakes up, 1 mid-day and 1 right before bedtime) along with 3 meals.
Breakfast: cereal and fruit or eggs, frenchtoast, waffles or english muffin.
Lunch: sometimes jarred peas and brown rice or lentils and rice (starting to refuse jarred foods all together) lately its been chicken w/ pasta or corn or shredded cheese, grilled cheese, sliced up ham and cheese.
Dinner: whatever we are eating (chicken, steak, pasta, meatballs, hamburger)
He also snacks on teething cookies, puffs, shredded cheese, yogurt.
I also wanted to add that I am not sure if DS is eating enough food. Sometimes he refuses to eat table food and jarred food or 1/2 goes on the floor. I just keep feeding till he dosent want anymore.

Thanks, ladies. This helps. Those of you on table food, what exactly are you giving DC? I know some you already answered me - thanks!

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
Table foods DS eats now at 10mth: pasta & ravioli pasta w/ lentils meatballs hamburger steak chicken Chili grilled cheese noodles pastina farina eggs pancakes waffles english muffin kraft shredded cheddar cheese Bell & Evans chicken nuggets (I just tried them and they are really good) I bake them and give them to DS for lunch. no hormones no antibiotics etc, all white meat!
Everything is cut up in tiny little pieces and washed down w/ some apple juice water. If you have not give your DD any table food as of yet, why dont you try giving her a little bit of what you eat and see how that goes. Dont get me wrong DS is not the best eater in the world he still gags and makes faces but I am patient and I keep trying.

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
Right now I'm giving my daughter 4 8oz bottles a day. The ped wants me to get her down to 3. She is also eating 4 stage 2s a day. I give her the bottles about an hour after meals as her ped wants her to eat food first and then the bottle. I just started table foods and basically I just give her what I'm having, so far she loves any type of chicken and ground meat. It's not alot of table food because I'm still scared of the whole choking thing but I'm getting better! She also gets some puffs after dinner.

Re: 9-12 month olds - feeding question
Charlie is taking 3 8oz bottles a day now. His first is around 6:30am then mid afternoon, and one before bed. He eats stage 2 and 3 fruits, veggies and dinners during the day. We are trying out table food, but he still gags on most of it. He'll eat chicken, cheese, couscous and tater tots, but when I gave him a pea, he gagged on the skin.
