9 months and still no bottle holding!!!
How do I get her to hold her own bottle? She was never a bottle drinker to begin with and all she likes to do is put her hands by her forehead when she drinks. I've tried to hold her hands on the bottle but she wiggles and squirms around because she doesn't want to hold it. Is this something she should be doing by now? Will she learn to like it or so I have to show her constantly that this is how to hold a bottle? Should I use a sippy cup with handles? ALL advise is welcome - how did you do it, recommendations please!

Re: 9 months and still no bottle holding!!!
DS caught on to bottle holding pretty quickly. What I did was hold the bottle with him. Then, I took away one of my hands and kept putting his hand on too. Once he had that grip down, I slowly introduced the other hand to it. Once I saw he got it..I took away both my hands.
Just try to keep both her hands on the bottle with yours. Sippy cup may help as well.

DD is 8 1/2 months and no bottle holding either. She also puts her hands on her face and pulls her hair while drinking... the only time she'll go for her bottle is to push it away or play with the nipple.

This is exactly the same way DD is!!!! And since she isn't a great bottle drinker I'm afraid to force her to hold the bottle figuring it may distract her.
So if a baby is never encouraged to hold the bottle, will they ever do it on their own?

My son is 7 months, and can hold the bottle, but wants no part of it. He would MUCH rather have someone hold it for him. He likes to rub his hair while he is drinking

My DS is 15 months old and still wont hold his own bottle. I think he's just lazy. DD (also 15 months) started holding it around 12 months.

How did you encourage them to hold their bottle? Did they just find interest in it one day and that was it or was it tough love by constantly showing them?

Re: 9 months and still no bottle holding!!!
DD has been holding her own bottle since 5 months old. I think the bottle holder that I used (littlewonders.com) really encouraged her to want to hold it. Good luck, if nothing else the bottle holder will give you a few minutes of freedom!
