A bit disappointed with the weather this week

DH was able to take 3 days off at the end of the week and we had planned a trip to NYC to see THE tree at the Rockefeller Center. We only could do Wednesday or Friday.

And it's going to rain on Wednesday and rain/snow on Friday.

I can take the cold weather but the stroller, being soaking wet with an almost 18 months, that's just not feasable.

I am disappointed. That would have been DS' 1st trip to the City. I was so looking forward to it.

I thought tomorrow was supposed to be 60 degrees and nice out.

Sorry, just looked at the weather channel and it said rain all day. Why did my cousin call to ask if we wanted to go to the park tomorrow since it would be nice? Chat Icon

I say head to the NY Botanical Gardens for the Holiday Train show!! That will get you in the spirit until you can make it to Rock Center!

I never went there (the gardens and Holiday Train Show).

Is it good for an 18 month boy?

I think so. It's good for parents too. Let me find the link for when we went a few years ago.

I have never been but I have heard good things about it - and many people make it an annual holiday event. I think he might like it Sophie.

Re: A bit disappointed with the weather this week

I know what you mean. WE're going into the city on Friday to see the tree and the Circus and I'm praying that's it's at least clear enough for us to have 10min at the tree without being miserable. Hope it holds out for you too!

Yes it's indoors. They have the Gingerbread Adventures too but a section of that is outdoors.

WHen we went on a weekend, it was COLD & crowded. You had to leave a stroller outside. I'm thinking mid-week, it wouldn't be so bad but I'm not sure where you'd have to leave your stroller.

Our kids loved the trains. We loved the buildings.

I just called them and asked them about my stroller. The problem is that it's going to rain so I can't do that.

I was actually looking forward to the alternative.

Can't you carry him? It's not that far. Maddie was on my husband's shoulders for a portion of it.

Well he is about 28 Lbs. So I can't carry him for long. I will see if DH is up to it.

We were supposed to do the city this week too Chat Icon I am holding out hope that the weather is OK!

But, if not I think we are going to do the train show. DS is 20 months, so I figure if DH carries him from the car, then he can walk around part of it and if need be we can take turns carrying him.

Is it the kind of place he will be OK walking around? He is pretty good about holding our hands and not touching things he shouldn't.
