A Britney question - b/c maybe I'm just naive
If the rumors are true, how can Britney's family freeze her credit cards and bank accounts?
She's an adult and fully responsible for her actions. Despite what we see in the tabloids, we've never heard that a judge ordered her incompetent. How can someone esle freeze her assets?
Does that mean if I step out of line, that MY MOM can take away my credit cards????

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe if KFed's name is ont hem too he can have them frozen.... but the mom, I am not sure how that is possible. And really I cannot imagine that she does not have $$ of her own.

She most likely has those cards, accounts, etc. in a corporate name so that other's can oversee her assets, make transactions, etc.. For example, I'm sure she doesn't pay her own bills so her accountant or whomever would need power of attorney to do so.
That same person or persons very well might have the ability to freeze assets as well.
I'm my father's power of attorney and while I would never do such a thing it clearly states in the POA form that I have the ability to make a variety of financial decisions including transferring or freezing of his personal financial assets.

I don't think she is in control of her own money
she probably has money managers- I remember her cards were denied once b/c her and k-fed were spending so much that her accountants couldn't keep up
all of her money is not in her checking account

Oh, in that case, I get it makes some sense. The girl has made so much money, that she's her own corporation.
Well, shame on her for not having her own "emergency" fund on the side. However, in this case, maybe it's a good thing she wasn't smart enough to take care of her own finances. Maybe this is the reality check that she needs. I really hope she gets help.
