A complete sidetrack to my day: kid-friendly restaurant suggestion in Northport/Greenlawn/Huntington
My co-worker just asked if I could recommend a place...her son is 2 and she doesn't want to feel bad if he is loud.
Any suggestions for Mexican or Chinese? Or anything?
THANKS!

Not Mexican or Chinese, but Sweet Momma's on 25A in Northport is pretty good. The adults can have a real dinner and the kids can even have breakfast foods for dinner.

There's a Ground Round on 25A in Northport.
East buffet on Jericho TPKE in Huntington - it's more $ than a typical buffet, but supposedly it's high quality

Ground Round is closed. Mundays in Huntington Village is good and easy. Sweet Momma's a good too.
ETA: There is a Pancho Viva's in Huntington as well. Good for children. I would go to Huntington and walk around til you find something that interests you. Most restaurants are family friendly.

In Greenlawn Nicky's is great -- very kid-friendly.
In Norhtport -- Elijah Churchill's is great, so is Sweet Mama's.
In Huntington -- Canterbury Ales is kid-friendly, but kind of small.

Show Win or Precious for Chinese/Japanese
Sweet Mama's, definitely
Cooke's Inn, Southern/Caribbean food - looks like a diner, ambience not great but food is terrific & Cooke can sing like no one's business.
I think of Nicky's as more of a neighborhood bar & not kid-friendly.

I can't remember the name of the place but in Huntington Village on Main Street is a very kid friendly place - they serve ice cream in a car or something like that for dessert. Newsday wrote about them two summers ago.
