A Drunk Driver Crashed through my sister's HOUSE last night!
News at 11! 
September started off with a BIG BANG last night... The bang of a drunk driver crashing through my sister's house at 5am, that is.
Last night my brother (he lives there too- pays her rent which helps out w/ the bills) heard a bang so loud he said it was like a TRAIN was coming through the house... The driver crashed his car through my sister's garage-- just missing the kitchen by inches. Now, there is a big, gaping HOLE in the side of her house which goes into her garage and a ton of things she had in the garage are destroyed- THANK GOD- there was no CAR in the garage.
Anywho, my brother came running down and the guy tried to BACK OUT and leave and then, in typical drunk driver fashion, got out and stumbled around saying "I'm just going to walk home now" and my brother, who is a COP lol, said "No, stay right there" and called the Police who came and gave him the "walk the line" test- he FELL and then they gave him a breathalizer and he blew a .15 The current legal limit is .08 which was, a few years ago, reduced from .10
Wow, right? With tomorrow marking one week until the wedding- my poor, poor sister She has so much going on right now between my wedding and starting school (she's a teacher)-- The hits just keep on coming! She has a great attitude about it though- she is just happy it wasn't the kitchen and that no one was hurt, of course- first and foremost.
Thanks for letting me get it all out-- I'm beyond pizzed that it was a drunk driver and most of you know why.

Awww, thank you so much!
Actually, it is my brother-- my sister owns the house and my brother lives there too and pays her rent... It really helps out w/ the bills being that she is on only one income.
But I didn't even realize until just now- my little nephew was there too (my brother's son) he is only five!

Seriously, when is DD going to stop?
We had a close call a few weeks ago too that I posted about. A young driver lost control, careened across our lawn, and ended up in our dirveway, destroying DHs car and hitting mine. He just missed our garage too!

What was really amazing is this: There's an access road into their community for landscapers and such-- so there's a big fence/gate thing and then the road-- he PLOWED through the fence/gate, sped down the access road and BAM into her house! Imagine how fast he was going to plow through the gate AND then her house!
And I don't know when DD will stop- I don't think it ever will 
This is the second time in a matter of about six years that DD has directly affected myself and someone in my life... That's an unbelievable thought.

wow! thank God no one was hurt and that it was the garage and not the actual living space of the house! i mean, it definitely $ucks that it happened at all but at least it was a part of the house that was empty.

I totally agree w/ you!!!
It was INCHES from the kitchen!
We need to have an engineer come in though to make sure there was no foundation/structural damage

people are sickening thank god no one was hurt and it was *only* a garage... i'd sue his azz! he deserves to have his car held for forfeiture, and his license suspended - on top of being locked up. and he deserves to be sued to pay for every penny of any and everything he destroyed. and then some.
and the sad thing is, he'll drive drunk again. i'd put money on it.

It's just the house... and a CAR hanging out of it 
It's CRAZY and then there's my brother, at 5am, in his underwear yelling at the guy to not flee the scene-- lol he was close to tackling him lol but they guy stayed b/c he was so out of it-- i could just picture my schmuck brother- seriously.
