A few oil questions...
Our new house has oil for heat only. DH and I have never had a house with oil. The previous owners had been using a company for the past 10 years for service and when we moved in, the company gave us a free 3 year contract, as long as we lock in with them.
My questions are:
1 - Does anyone use Troiano for oil and/or service?
2 - We will be locked in at $2.79 - is that a decent price?
3 - We have to fill out a credit application to lock in and get the service contract started. Is this standard?
Thanks!

Re: A few oil questions...
I do not use that company. We use Petro and are locked in at a ceiling rate of $2.99, meaning we pay market price up to $2.99 per gallon. If the price goes over the $2.99, we still only pay the $2.99.
We have no problems with them and have our unit under contract with them. They did not do a credit check and you can do six month or a year contracts.
Hope this helps

I've never heard of the company, either. I use Petro and we locked in for a ceiling rate in Jan. '07 for 1 year. All they needed from me was my full name and my SS# to start our billing. Petro serviced our house that we bought for the lifetime of the house and the reason we stayed with them since they were familiar with the furnace, etc since they installed it.
