A few prayers for my dog Maverick-new update

We went out and I didnt realize I left a bag of trail mix on the kitchen table. Well Maverick shredded the bag and at the trail mix. There was a decent amount left in the BJ size bag!
IT had peanuts, cashews, almonds, M&Ms and the WORST..RAISINS

We rushed him to the ER. They induced vomiting and he is now on an IV to flush out his kidneys and pancreas.

I am sure he will be ok.....I just cannot imagine not having him here for 3 days. I miss my doggie! But we did the right thing to get him in there. We were going to wait til morning but if his kidneys failed over night I would of been 100% guilty for not taking him right away

When we said goodbye to him he was his happy self so that is good and he had no problem going back with the nurse!!
He is a good boy

We have to get him tomorrow and transfer him from the ER to our vet to stay there.



Small update 8/30 8am
I call my vet and there are not DRs in yet. But they are saying i may have to keep him at the ER b/c they dont have 24/7 care. So he cannot be monitored. I am waiting for a call back from the ER vet to update me on him and if he needs 24/7 monitoring. If he does that was one bag of trailmix! But I dont give a u know what he is worth EVERY penny! But I miss him awful. I will keep you updated! He def ate about 1/2 lb of trailmix and it was mostly raisins. Now I know Mav has an iron stomach but raisins threw alarms in my head. I mean Mav has eaten chocolate before and he watched him and he was ok but raisins can be toxic to dogs. At least with chocolate there are diiferent kinds like bakers chocolate and dark choc with 70% cocoa ...raisins it is ANY raisin!

We got him from the ER and he seems great. The vet said he is DEF HIGH ENERGY. Yup thats him my lunadog!
The nurse said they had to take him out of the crate b/c too much was going on and he wanted to be a part of it soooo bad. Mav is a people person dog! We took him over to our vet. They cannot keep him overnight at our vet with the IV b/c there is no one to watch him and he will rip it right out he is nuts! So after looking at his charts we are going to keep him at our vet all day on his IV then he will come home tonight! We will bring him back 5-7 days to test his kidneys again.
I knew he wold be ok....I just missed him soooooo much

Oh no!!!!

You absolutely did the right thing by taking him tonight!!! I'm sure he will be fine when he's back home with you but I can just imagine how you're feeling right now. I know if something like that happened to one of my two cats I'd be feeling sick over it

You were a good, responsible dog mommy though and he'll be his happy and HEALTHY self again soon!!!

OMG! You totally did the right thing. Leave him there so he can get the care he needs. I am sure he is in good hands. Keep us posted!
