A few questions (summer related)

So I found out that for the summer I'm only getting paid for one month the other is an unpaid leave. I can work at my schools summer camp but I will not be getting paid my teacher salary. And that's only *IF* they can afford to give me a job.

So my questions are can I receive unemployment for that one month I'm not getting paid?

And does anyone know where I can work for a month of the summer and make a compareable salary?

I feel so upset by this because I have bills and rent and stuff to pay and wasn't really told how it works in terms of vacation pay.

i have to say, this sounds strange. every teacher i know gets their salary spread out in checks for 12 months, or larger checks spread over the school year (10 months).

Just FYI, my school only pays over 10 mos, so we put money away each month to cover the summer months. I realize it's probably too late for you to do that for this summer, but it's something to consider for the future.

I'm confused as to why you would have an unpaid leave or receive unemployment? Are you unemployed as of the end of this year?
