A Good Man and Family In Need-UPDATE!!!!!!!
December 30th a very dear neighbor (who helps EVERYONE AND ANYONE IN NEED) was helping his SIL cut down some branches at the DDs new home and fell. He is now a Quadriplegic and needs a ventilator. When his wife comes home from visiting her husband she's always crying. So here's my question........they need to remodel their home to accommodate his needs so he can come home. There are so many things this family needs, how do I go about putting together maybe a charity function or finding how to help them? Bob was always the first to help all his neighbors. What can I do to get the neighbors together to help him and his family? Just putting it out there because I'd really like to do something for this family. Any help suggestions, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks
UPDATE:
While I was home from having surgery I decided that it was time that everyone in my community know what had happened to this family. I created a flyer with pictures of the family and put one in each of the mailboxes for a good 2 mile radius from where we live......well one of the very first phone call was a private contractor who was very much willing to donate labor and materials to this very worthy cause..............I have been able to collect so far $18,792 from the local stores and another $15,275 from the neighbors.........contractor started working on my neighbor's house on MONDAY!!!!!! I can't wait until he can come home!!!!!!

My sister and brother- in-laws BF got into an accident about 4 years ago becoming quadriplegic My sister contacted a foundation. I will find out the information for you tomorrow.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet. I will ask my sister tomorrow. Her father-in-lw was having major surgery, so I forgot. Her good friend has gotten very depressed, unfortunaltely and doesn't really get out of bed. He moved to Ohi to be with his mom.

www.brightstepsforward.org My dh is the national spokes person. They raise money for therapy for all of these cases. they also offer the HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen chamber). Unbelievable results.. This charity does the fundraiser for the family. give this info to the family and see if they can help.. G/L

My family did a fundraiser for a different reason and raised about $100K...
Our local firehouse donated the room; many resaturants donated food and gift baskets; friends and family donated food/drinks and gift baskets.
Everyone attending purchased tickets and we raffled off the baskets, etc.
Everyone had a nice time and felt good that they were doing something good for someone. It's amazing what the community can and will do when they pull together.
