A Happy Regular Exerciser
Are you someone who loves working out and works out regularly year round or are you someone who is motivated by a special event or season etc?
I am definitely the latter- even DH says as soon as we book a vacation that I will be hopping back on the treadmill. I hate being like this -when I am working out I enjoy seeing the results and vow to never let myself slide again and I always, always do. This winter is killing me - I had lost some weight before the holidays but its all back on since January as I am just not motivated.
So how do you keep yourself motivated? I guess if I was to go on a beach holiday every 3 months of the year I might stay motivated

I don't love working out but I love eating so I work out regularly year round so that I don't feel guilty for eating what I want. I do mostly eat healthy with a few cheat foods here and there

Exactly the same. I will say that if I consistently get myself to the gym, I do get really motivated to keep going because I love how it makes me feel. But really I am just doing it so I can stuff my face as much as I want lol. Having a special event or vacation in the near future does definitely help me get my butt in gear.

I love it. I dislike missing a day for any reason. Gives me anxiety just thinking about missing a workout. Totally addicted.

A Happy Regular Exerciser
The key for me was finding an exercise I loved doing - then it was easy to motivate myself. I started taking Zumba classes and I am obsessed! I can't wait for the next class, and then I'm sad when it's over. And seeing results right away is also super inspiring.
I am not a person who can just run on the treadmill or use a machine. The classes definitely keep me motivated and work me out 100000x better than I could do on my own.

I love working out It's the one thing I do for myself regularly I can forget about everything else for an hour 2 and make it all about me. It makes me healthier, it allows me to eat more, it relieves stress for me and overall I think it allows me to be a better mom.

I love working out as well. I am consistent with my workouts and normally do 5x per week. It's become a lifestyle for me and it's one thing I do for myself as well. I don't feel right when I don't get my workout in. I feel the same as above I am an overall better person b/c it allows me to relieve my stress etc... I don't picture myself not working out ever!

Me too. I am not motivated by results though. I fell like that can backfire, b/c you don't always see results immediately, or you could plateau. I go because I actually like being there & feel better in general when I go.
I also try & think of it as it's own benefit rather than a means to an end. Will losing weight help my health? yes, but just being active will also help me right now, fat & all. It's good for your heart, bones, blood pressure, mental health, etc.
I started slow--I only go twice a week, but that is also a key to staying motivated for me. I have been going once or twice a week for a year and I am slowly building, now I am consistently going two days & will add on a third when I can. If I started out with 4 or 5 days, it wouldn't have lasted.

I love it. I didn't always but I kept at it and eventually, a few years ago, I realized that I really do love working out.
I mostly run or go to Soul Cycle or Baptiste yoga.

Re: A Happy Regular Exerciser
I stay motivated by being part of fitness challenge groups. They're filled with people just like me who are working toward a fitness and/or health goal. We support each other, keep each other motivated, and most importantly, we hold each other accountable!

I go but if I do too much I end up hurting somewhere and have to back off and start over again more slowly.
